Split #1 marks the debut of a new vinyl series, to be hosted on the Various Artists catalogue of Pi Electronics. The split series will be bringing two artists on the same vinyl, with this very first release presenting music by Greek producers Fragedis and Nemmett.

Coming from different backgrounds of electronic music, prolific figure of the Cretan islands’ dance scene, Fragedis and one of the Athenean founding members of the ᾽π᾽ crew, Nemmett, contribute their sharpest weapons to this release.

On the A side, Fragedis delivers a techno/breaks cut of dystopian melodies and vocal samples with his opening track “Flantza”. His second track, “Klirish” blends industrial leaning percussion with Detroit techno flavored synths.

On the flip side, Nemmett returns with his trademark industrial / breaks sound, in a hypnotic, rap vocal atmosphere with the track “Altars”. His broken beat influences go more noise with his second track “Teeth”, which concludes the B side of the vinyl.

It is always our pleasure to have new talents in the house, and we’ve been following Notzing’s development since long ago. His approach to techno is absolutely personal and complex, hard and intrincated, mental and physical. Protae is the first missile in this box full of weapons, a super busy techno exercise with compacted drums, drilling synth lines and random metallic hits breaking the monotony. The effect on the floor is devastating and has been tested extensively in dancefloors worldwide by label owner Oscar Mulero in the past months. 7 minutes of pure dancefloor mayhem. Fagus continues with the sickness, with hysterical synth washe repeating an hypnotic chant, adding layers of sound as the groove goes by. Repetition is here the key to proper trance, not exactly with pleasant tones but by aggression. Ekaterin is gummy and elastic with formant synth sounds chewing frequencies and changing constantly in shape. Another mental mantra with a physical drive. Molniya slows down the pace and dives into profound sound scapes full of unnatural underwater sounds and washes providing a feeling of scuba diving. To end this sonic odyssey, Emision goes completely beatless, growing from the profound sub bass frequencies to crispy and crunchy surface noises, creating the soundtrack of floating in outer space with no gravity. Please beware of the super intense bass tones when playing on a big sound system. The perfect combination of experimentation and punchiness, keep an eye on this guy, is gonna make some proper noise in the coming years.

Sungate welcomes the return of Fase Bipolar to its barracks.
The valencian duo, composed of label co-founder Moy Santana and infamous antihero Finalversion3, soars at nosebleed altitude with an EP of uncompromised techno. 
Tinged with euphoria, these tracks are the perfect soundtrack to solar storm navigation. A myriad of electromagnetic rhythms bombarded by white noise, FM alchemy, and a heavy dose of rumbling bass. 
Anthony Linell adds to the release with a remix characterised by its addictive pulse, an exploration into texture locked into an elegant grid of mechanised techno. Desroi’s remix, in turn, pushes the EP’s euphoric traits up a notch by delivering a shimmering rework of club-focused dance impressionism.
