I am sand 
passing through a bottleneck
to rest on the other side of this moment

ground down from the shells of ancient crustaceans
and bottlecaps born yesterday

I am sand
to be scattered in the wind across
a hilltop in the desert
from one side to the next

No fuss over castles
chipped away in the end
