The prolific Kink Gong (aka Laurent Jeanneau) returns in a unique duet with one of the most prominent artists of the Chinese avantgardist scene Li Daiguo. Kink Gong and Li Daiguo first met in Chengdu (capital of Sichuan Province, China) while playing the same night at the Jahbar music venue. 

A few months later, as they become neighbors in Cai Cun, a village near the old town of Dali (Yunnan), Kink Gong begins recording Daiguo playing Pipa, Cello and Zheng. He then proceeded to deconstruct these recordings while adding voices that he mainly recorded in Yunnan Province. This fantastic combination of field recordings, experimental folk melodies and electronic treatment leads us to a fourth underground universe reminiscent of Jon Hassell's finest hours.

Opening this serie, Michael Pisaro-Liu, emminent member of the Wandelweiser composers collective & residing and teaching in Los Angeles, delivered a score where words and (love) letters transform into notes,  revealing in their dialog a delicat conterpoint, two voices slightly appart at the begining get soflty intertwined in the last third. Philippe Lauzier, clarinetist, improvisors and sound artist, from Montreal, precisely fomulated its reading on its intruments while d'incise, obstinate sound explorer and co-founder of Insub, reincarnated the score, and its electronic interpretation, by plugging it into various non-neutral, tenderly distorting, loudspeakers.

The Duo Ludwig Wittbrodt, that‘s Emily Wittbrodt on cello and Edis Ludwig on laptop and drums. The two develop a thicket of sounds and melodies that absorbs us in a completely unpretentious way and fills us with associations and warmth. Sometimes in the jungle, sometimes under water in the desert, we are reminded of the achievements of both Krautrock and Neue Musik, of early electronic music as well as Drone and Ambient.

At first glance, Emily and Edis seem to be an unequal couple. She has an academic background as a cellist, he is self-taught with his main instrument being computer and programming. She is active in Free Jazz, he drums with the rock band Düsseldorf Düsterboys. On the other hand, both have been active in the Free Improv scene in the German Rhine-Ruhr region for years - for example in ensembles such as The Dorf or Hilde (Emily) and Nasssau or Transport (Edis).

After some concerts and a first tour now is the time for the release of the group‘s debut album. Ludwig Wittbrodt will be released on cassette (yes, on real music cassette) and of course digitally. These four tracks, which evolved from a mixture of improvisation and joint composing, show the musical communication between Edis and Emily, but also the fun of combining moods, styles and instruments, which, according to our dusty listening habits, are surprising and irritating in a pleasant way.

Delphine Dora is a prolific recording artist, improviser, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from France. She performed in various places in France and many places in Europe. Her music is regularly broadcast in international programs in independant radios.
She works mainly with piano, voice, organ, modular synth and field recordings. Her music displays a pure fascination with sound and straddles the lines between improvisation, modern classical, avant folk, song forms, and electro-acoustic music.
