Now spending some quality time with Rotterdam-based creative @2_29! 

His whole life is somewhat based around music, creativity and DJ-ing. From elementary school on, little Gerran had an interest in knobs that bend sound. Later on it developed to some basic DJ skills when his group of friends (he still hangs out with) had a rule at hang outs: you can play your music, as long as you mix it in.

With a few bends and turns in his DJ life, Gerran is now focusing on a down-tempo elektronic breakbeat sound with his alias 2:29, which is slowly recognized in the local scene of Rotterdam. The sounds of 2:29 can be heard regularly on the internet waves of the online radio station @operator-radio. 

With the Show UTC+1:00 Gerran performs the sounds he's searching for during a night out or when strolling on a festival. Besides DJ'ing there is producing & promoting events and festivals as a hobby that totally got out of hand. The Operator resident loves to balance between a raw industrial and funky electronic vibe.

Thought as an hypnosis session inspired by the neurophysiology behind the mysteries of sleep stages and its transitions phenomena, the aim is to introduce the listener to an altered state of consciousness where sound frequencies are melted into brainwaves. Repetitive bass lines synchronize rhythmic slow activity, as during sleep-onset, able to induce a hypnagogic state. Higher tones overlap, mirroring the gamma band that evoke inner memories from deeper areas. As melodies and whisperings modulate your thoughts, REM-like architecture sculptures the imagery and the self vanishes. 

<<< You are now entering the “dysvreality”. Chords resonate echoes from a distant time: chaos imposed as order. A frenetic lullaby that has already alienated many, turns dreams into nightmares, forcing the subject to escape. Enchanting atmospheres are invaded by electroacoustic patterns seeking for awareness. Sound robot machines return a sense of control, followed by a dreamy space odyssey. Suddenly, a familiar street sound breaks the wake-sleep frontiers. You’ve listened to that before, in another life… Your life. Lucid dreams emerge by identifying this clue. Metal elements dive into an oneiric soundscape where fear and hope collide. Wandering voices interrupt lucidity, translating you to a confusional arousal. 

As you try to open your eyes, you notice with panic that you cannot move, cuddled by sub-bass and strings. Expecting to feel safe while paralyzed, horns and whistles warn you about destiny. In that moment, you realize that distant reality is, in fact, the present and time is running out. >>>

This set was recorded at “Vanishing Point”, a magical open-sky sleepover that took place in Madrid's surroundings in September 2025. So glad to be part of it, endless love to all people involved. Final cut is added as an epilogue, which I hope completes the story with a special bonus for this HOCast.

Next up in our mix series is 98dots, a Tbilisi-born, Brooklyn-based DJ and promoter. Nikoloz is a familiar face on both sides of the Atlantic, both as a vital force in New York’s scene, known for his dynamic presence both behind the decks and in his work as a promoter, and in his native Georgia, as a regular at Bassiani and Mutant Radio. Through each set, he explores the mystical side of rapture, seeking transcendence in the communion of the dancefloor and weaving together fragments of past and future into a single timeless moment.

In this mix, 98dots brings a cosmic and deep selection, anchored by warm basslines, lush low-end grooves and spiraling acid. A mix that twists and expands with hypnotic force. As the autumn season creeps in, this blend becomes a perfect backdrop, whether to reminisce a dancefloor glowing in the ealy  morning hours or to soundtrack introspective nights at home on your home stereo.

Ghost - Black Merlin  at Salon des Amateurs

The third man to take the baton in Delsin’s new house aligned sub-series is Helsinki's Trevor Deep Jr. The man himself states his sound is "somewhere between Detroit deepness, classic Chicago house and the moody soundscapes of Helsinki”, something backed up by the three new tracks offered here. 

Clearly a fan of analogue synthesis, opening track 'Keep On' is a gently rolling deep house groove that comes alive with a seriously heart wrenching and super soulful male vocal. In the background, well-defined drums and warm chords swell about like a warm sea, proving not only people from Detroit can make deeper than deep electronica. 

Deep but purposeful, this is house music for the cosiest of late-night dancing spaces that will no doubt bring plenty of deserving attention on Trevor Deep Jr.
