UNDERTALE: STORYSHIFT is a reimagining of Storyshift, set in a post-pacifist timeline of Undertale. Many years after Monsterkind had finally been set free, Alphys suggested to her friends that they all dress up as each other for Halloween, playing off the whole "dressing up as monsters" thing that humans were still prone to doing. A lot of them really seemed to like the idea. So much so, that a certain ghostly, theatrical entertainment robot would be inspired to write a stage play for him and his friends to perform in.

After a long series of not-yet-to-be-disclosed events, Frisk finds themself back in the throne room, ready to face off against Sans. All of the friends they made throughout their journey, however, show up to put a stop to the impending bloodshed.

During this, the flowers in the garden of the throne room... start to weep. Sounds of despair, sounds of hope. Sounds from across all of time, past, present and future.

Mettaton is meant to represent Chara, and takes a much more literal "Narrator" role. Being the writer of the stage play, and given the cards he had been dealt in the big Halloween Dress-up Party, Mettaton figured he'd be fine taking a less active role in the stage play. That is, until now.

Track itself takes a lot of inspriation from Red Dead Redemption and Psychedelic Rock. I wanted it to feel intense due to the circumstances and how the party is in actual danger, but also kinda silly and goofy given that you're fighting, well, you know who. I'm not sure this counts as a Halloween special, but I had nothing else prepared so, Happy Halloween!)
