This quote perfectly surmises the message in the music Delux makes, and the way he lives his life. While the majority of musicians, especially rappers, strive to find solely financial success, Delux works to progress his own music, and the music industry as a whole. He also aims to draw the emphasis of hip hop music away from money making and pistol toting, and instead talk about something more people can relate to--doing what you love to do and enjoying every minute of it. Anthony Giometti (Delux) was born in Denver, Colorado. He spent his childhood years living in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, soaking in the sun and fresh air. Introduced to music at a young age, he became instantly infatuated. Where most children spent their allowances on video games, he bought tapes and cds. Anthony started rapping in high school, recreationally at first, spitting freestyles with his friends. Finding that he loved the freedom of expression in making music, he decided to start recording his raps. He began playing these recordings for people, and received such positive feedback from his music that he decided to work to do something bigger. Thus Delux was born. Delux has recognized that the single most important key to being successful in the music industry is hard work and drive. Delux has applied himself completely to his music. With the help of his producer/manager Nick Sparks, Delux has recorded and released two full mixtapes in the past year. The first mixtape, The Final Frontier, was a 12 track CD of fairly recognizable remixes. The second CD, Pyramids, contains 13 all original tracks, and feels much more like an album than a mixtape. Even with Pyramids having just been released, Delux is back to making songs, working on a third mixtape and his first EP. The biggest defining element of Delux as an artist is that he makes music, not for the money or the fame, but because he truly loves what he’s doing. He wants to create something that people will enjoy, something people will dance to, drive to, party to, and live to. Whether he is on the stage or in the studio he doing what he is passionate about, having fun, and loving life.
