Always sitting slightly off-centre, Jay Tripwire is an artist that walks the line as industry staple and ever changing innovator,
releasing one standout release after another.
His signature fusion of deep Detroit textures and intricate rhythms has led a career spanning two decades,
with over 200 vinyl releases, 2 commercial mixed cd compilations, and four full length albums.
He remains one of the most prolific artists around, with an average of 15 releases per year.
He is an always an in demand remixer he averages 10-15 remixes per year.
In 2010 Jay Was honoured by being named by Future Music alongside Frankie Knuckles, Larry Heard, Charles Webster,
Atjazz, and Tom Middleton as being one of the most influentual Innovators in house music for “The thoughtful minimal stylings of Jay Tripwire.”
Most recently he’s completed a compilation mix for Steve Bug’s respected label Pokerflat –
‘Shaping Elements Vol.8’ which features a blend of deep house ranging from
Detroit inspired textures to modern European house and tech house fusions,
blurring genrefication. This follows releases on the label under his 8Channels name - a project that melds basic channel,
cosmic soul and dub into a new hybrid soundscape of techno, deep house and dub.
The moniker also appears on other highly regarded labels such as Ransom Note, Conya, NRK, Cinematic and Hallucination.
Whilst the term ‘legendary’ is often bandied about with little thought,
in Jay’s case we could say just that - his personal arsenal of re-edits and comfort in arranging extended DJ sets lasting eight hours or
more certainly demonstrates a talent that deviates from standard fare.
Jay also still supports,buys and plays vinyl, and actively seeks out records to play at gigs, when Tripwire is on the decks he plays a vinyl
and CD set.
Jay has made appearances in over 200 cities worldwide, and some of his most memorable gigs have been a decade of bookings at
Fabric London- a venue that has changed his approach to Djing, and production sound.
Jay’s work has been featured on numerous compilations, notably from Cocoon, Fabric, Renaissance, Journeys by DJ, Ultra & Bedrock,
and is supported by a diverse spectrum of dance culture from house luminaries
such as, Doc Martin and Kerri Chandler to techno legends Steve Bug and Laurent Garnier and John Digweed
With anticipated releases and remixes imminent, the Tripwire production wheel is still very much in motion,
and on its way to a turntable near you.

Nic James DJ/Producer from Sheffield.

Influenced by the early house and techno parties he witnessed as a youth, Nic started DJing in the early 90’s, playing at local clubs in his hometown of Sheffield. A few years on and he made the transition to producer after taking time out to learn the craft. He now writes and produces music for himself as well as engineering tracks for other artists, shying away from the pre-made loops and samples found in a lot of today’s music, instead choosing to make most of his sounds from the ground up. He has had releases on Labels such as BEEF Records, Something Else, Mojear, and Love Not Money, with tracks supported by the likes of Sasha,AudioJack and Tensnake and Shades of Grey to name a few.

As a DJ, producer and label boss of AEON, Berlin’s Alex Niggemann’s career has been instrumental in the continued development of electronic dance music. His ever-restless creativity and desire to build a platform for music that defines the deeper side of the electronic spectrum, led Alex to launch his very successful label, AEON in 2013 – an imprint which has gone on to play an integral part in building Alex’s impressive repertoire of releases to this point and beyond. His aim for the label is to build a representative artistic platform that mirrors the peak time DJ sets that he plays, referencing the spirit of classic, timeless house and techno and updating it for the future.

With a career spanning over a decade, Shur-i-kan is undoubtably one of the heavy hitters of the deep house world.

An accomplished keyboardist and part-time member of dance improvisional supergroup The Bays, Shur-i-kan's distinctive productions ooze musicality and emotion that has captured the hearts of his many admirers including music legends Kenny Dope, Tom Middleton, Larry Heard, Joey Negro and Ashley Beedle.

A regular fixture in Traxsource's top 10 deep house artists shows his music is as relevant now as when his critically acclaimed debut album Advance was launched on DJ Mag's Best of British award winning label Freerange Records.

With over 50 releases and remixes - his productions have been in constant demand by top dance labels such as Anjunadeep, Simple, Systematic, Z Records, Defected and Lazy Days to name a few.

Deep House music... 

Since Tom’s debut release on Sudup Recordings in 2009, he has had a string of deep house tracks and remixes on Lost My Dog Records, UM Records, Savoir Faire Musique, 3am Recordings, DeepWit Recordings and 5 & Dime Recordings. He’s collaborated with highly respected, prolific producer Harold Heath on 3 EP’s and is now working on his Lucky Sun side project, a left field / down tempo esque vibe that will see a full album released in the Summer of 2015!

Delve Deeper has had a strong presence in Sheffield nightlife since 2007 and in that time its parties, promoted by the residents Liam C and Jenny Fu, have remained true to its original ethos of deep, underground house and showcasing the very best of local talent and international talent.

Over the years Delve Deeper has hosted a variety of parties from bars to nightclubs to warehouse via the infamous all day marathons at Dulo and The Washington, where the cream of Sheffield talent come together in creating the infamous positive and good vibe Delve Deeper has built a name upon.

So far Delve Deeper has brought to Sheffield internationally acclaimed names including; Jimpster, Milton Jackson, Shur-i-Kan, Sebastian Davidson, Da Sunlounge, Tomson, K-Bana and Ben Maxfield (Session9), Evans & Waterfall and Neil Hinde (The Lisa Marie Experience) to name but a few.

Looking ahead, things will continue to build with some exciting events in the planning stage and world class deep house names being sourced. Delve Deeper will also look towards what it feels most strongly about, pushing local talent and bringing Sheffield DJ’s and events together to continue on pushing the excellent scene Sheffield has to offer.
