OVERVIEW:
Driven by the inherently political nature of techno, M_Rec Ltd. launches a new series of 10” vinyl editions aimed exclusively at showcasing quality techno tracks. As straightforward black label 10” records, with the tracks info etched on vinyl, these releases offer Max_M and his label the opportunity to quickly distribute new exciting productions to dedicated djs and vinyl lovers.

On this very first release, label owner Max_M and Attic Music founder Fabrizio Lapiana explore the dark corners of techno with two hypnotic cuts. Stirring away from the techno-tool formula, these tracks are fully formed narratives, journeys that seem to pay tribute to the vinyl format itself, meant to be played in their entirety.

Max_M’s cut is abrasive and moody. A forward driving and rich bassline meets a set of sharp drones, along with a glacial melody setting the undertone for the whole experience. It’s a track dedicated to no-light dancefloors and late night sessions. Experimental and impactful at the same time.

On the flipside, Fabrizio Lapiana offers a crafty cut. With melody and drum work growing together, the track brings ambient soundscapes and complex beat programming into total harmony. What comes out is an affective and uniquely melodic techno track that mixes old and new, a touching listen on and off the dance floor.

With this new 10” series M_Rec Ltd. creates another output to convey and preach its vision and passion for all things techno.

OVERVIEW:
The efforts of label chief Max_M and Attic Music’s own Fabrizio Lapiana has so far proven to be a potent combination. Sharing wax space for the last two releases on M_Rec Ldt’s discreet new 10” vinyl series, the pair have so far turned in a stirring duplet of some of the finest, fully-formed pieces of modern techno music. Now, for the third installment, Max_M steps aside to let a brand new outfit take the helm.

The mysterious and so far unreleased Overall Severity nestles comfortably into the A-side with another swollen, undulating melodic arrangement, true to form of what we’ve seen from the series so far. Then on the B-side, Fabrizio Lapiana offers more of his dark and groovy techno, toned in what has become a signature splash of vintage British-redolent electronica.

Happy new year y'all!

I chose to do a bootleg of this track, combining RP Boo's 'Superbust' with 'Bardwell's Disaster' by The Black Dog as both artists are heavily influential to my current style.  I wasn't able to find the track 'Superbust' anywhere except for RP Boo's amazing Fact mix, so in order to play it I had to make my own version.  I've been really feeling footwork and juke recently and in order to play it in a techno set, I have to slow it down about 25%, which makes the tracks feel weird and dark, fit in well with my general aesthetic. The words on the original are kind of unintelligible so I kind of made it up as I went along, but I think it turned out well. If you like it, I hope you go into a wormhole get into RP Boo and The Black Dog as they're both real legends and this cover/bootleg is an homage to them.

I try not to take on too many remixes as my current focus is on writing my new record, but when I received the request from Lana Del Rey I just couldn't resist - her voice is like silk and I was really vibing the brass too. TARZAN is the new music effort of french producer Miqi O. 
As a human child lost in the jungle and raised by gibbons, Tarzan jump gracefuly from african percussions to blues samples, climbing on every branch of roots and tribal music : amerindian song, jungle noises, ethnic instrument, animal scream... all blended in a modern abstract-offbeat-hip-hop way, in the middle of disturbed synthetizer and heavy wonky beats. 
Layer one upon the other, like different stage of a subtropical forest, his music is full of surprise, evolving all the time, and it’s hard to know which animal you’re going to cross on this trip, and if it’s going to be a friendly meeting. 
His powerful voices lead the progression, like Tarzan’s yell lead the jungle, and his wild song build the story of a naturalist expedition, making us discovering these unknown landscape. 
On stage like in a tree, Tarzan is the king of the jungle. Playing acrobatic live beats, his simian moves on pad controlers bring him to a tribal and infectious dance, challenging tigers, lights and snakes to awake our forgotten animal knowledge.
