Welcome to my DEBUT spoken word EP, Russian Roulette. I wish to take you on a journey of; lust, love, faith, gender and power. Then bring to light socially "awkward" issues such as domestic violence and depression, from a fresh and gripping angle. Featuring some of the brightest, up and coming artists and producers from London, coming together to create art with a meaning.

Every track is my spin on songs from Beyonce's timeless 'I Am.. Sasha Fierce' album, to form a seamless and (hopefully) captivating plot; each track a different part of the story-line, which the short film will tie together - that's right! Russian Roulette will be accompanied by a short film to be released in October!

The project is titled 'Russian Roulette' to highlight how dangerous taking a chance on love can be. For many people, their experience of love has been little different to sitting down, placing a bullet in one of the chambers in a revolver before spinning it and pointing the barrel at their temple.

This is so much more than just an EP, it's a collaboration. Of youth, talent.. art. You can also find a collection of artwork from some of my favourite illustrators, who have interpreted some of the themes addressed in Russian Roulette - on www.emmanuelspeaks.com

This is undoubtedly my biggest experiment to date. I believe in challenging conventions and pushing the boundaries of spoken word poetry and storytelling.

This EP isn't about me, it's about you. Anyone who's ever loved, lost, struggled mentally or had to endure any sort of conflict within themselves or abuse by anyone they love. Understand the journey. With many biblical references throughout and a strong focus on continuity, this is my most detailed project yet. It's taken most of this year to put together and I just hope you catch everything and enjoy listening while you wait on the film.
