This Bom Shanka episode brings you PIEMAN and his "Lost in the Ladies Toilets" mix. Pieman is a core member of the legendary Tribe of Frog in Bristol and label manager of Broken Records, and is also signed to Bom Shanka. He has been pretending to play music since he got lost in the now famous Tesco "Ladies Toilets" incident and somehow gave birth to a typewriter during a party last year during lockdown. With a very "speshul" feel, his sets can be described as Maximal PsychedelicTrashPopDiscoFilth with dollops of full fat ice cream and wafers of random audio for good measure. He recently released his first compilation on Bom Shanka called "Double Strength Placebo" which came out when no-one was looking to maintain anonymity, and is frankly to be avoided unless you like music. For the future, Broken Records parties are going from strength to strength with its genre defying attitude to music and this year Tribe of Frog will be celebrating our 22nd birthday with a 6 room multi genre party! Morphing and adapting every year, this year he will be trying to focus on coffee toothpaste and custard pies.

Mutaliens is the psychedelic solo project of Matt Kyriakides, also the founder of Mutagen Records and full-on psytrance project Contineum.
His psychedelic journey began when he co-organised underground psytrance events in London, which led to him forming the now establised UK-based record label Mutagen Records and the full-on psytrance project Contineum. 

Matt has always had a passion for more then one style of psytrance, causing him to start exploring and DJing the psychedelic UK twilight style. He has drawn influence from such artists as Psymmetrix, Dirty Saffi, Assimilon, Jumpstreet, Parasense, Whiptongue, Assioma, Phase, Dust, E.V.P, Reality Grid and Ajja. After years of experimentation and mind melting, Matt constructed a rolling, glitchy, driving, mind-modulating and mechanical style of psytrance to bend the body and melt the mind.

Matt’s unrelenting passion and his fearsome energy have found an affinity within this new sound that is at the cutting edge of psychedelic music. This new musical direction opens up the doorway for him to beautifully express the raw energy that is packed into his personality, bringing to life the intense energies that permeate his existence.

Now signed to highly acclaimed Italian record label Looneymoon Records, Matt has further experimented with his new style by working and remixing with some of the top producers of his style such as Module Virus, Hypereggs, Jumpstreet and Phase to name a few.

According to the Āyurvedic tradition, there are 5 primary elements: Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Ether.
Nowaday, some call it Higgs Boson, but in old texts it's found under the name 𝘼̄𝙠𝙖̄𝙨́𝙖. It is this element that provide to elementary particles to acquire their mass.

Ākāśa is the omnipresent existence, which permeates everything. It gives All that has form, all that is, is the product of a combination from this Ākāśa. It is Ākāśa which becomes air, liquids, solids; it is the Ākāśa which becomes the sun, the earth, the moon, the stars, the comets; It is the Ākāśa that becomes the human body, the body of animals, plants, all the forms that we see, all that can come to our senses, all that exists.

But Ākāśa is also and above all the element that carries sound within it.

This EP, especially the third track Elastic Drift, is the foundation, the prequel, the basis of BenSolo's future album.

Maratus is the Psytrance project of Demetris Polycarpou. The name was inspired from the impressive peacock spiders of the genus Maratus, which perform remarkable dancing-like mating displays. 
For many years, he followed psytrance events and festivals as a listener, showing a particular interest on forestic nighttime psychedelic. It was in 2013 when his passion for this music led him to start Djing, as well as organizing events with the local Cyprus team Antimatter Crew. His sets can be described as a fusion between Forest & DarkPsy, characterized mainly by organic, natural sounds, dynamic leads & deep atmospheres. He is currently a label Dj in Anarchic Freakuency Records.
