Underwater Antarctic Soundscape at PALAOA - October

Nearly every night there comes a train from Novosibirsk in Russia to Tahkoluoto Port on the Finnish West Coast with 33 rail wagons of coal. The coal will be loaded in Tahkoluoto and shipped through the Suez Canal once a month to Paradip in India near the border of Bangladesh.

In this recording the wagons are emptied, and they are cleaned, locked and arranged before the return to Siberia. In the end, the train with three locomotives leaves the Port, and a silence is settling down.
