Up next on Phonica Premieres is a seriously groovy cut from International Soleil Band off the new Soundway 12".  Ta Lassa is an '80s West African Disco crossover from the International Soleil band straight outta Guinea. Composed by Gnamakoron Sidi Diabaté it was originally featured on an album released in 1983 by French Warners offshoot WAM (West African Music) - a short lived label that recorded about 20 releases of West African music released in France. Also Featuring Mory Djely Kouyate this track was a staple of the 22 band's repertoire in the 1970s (in which many of the ISB played) - famous for their recordings on the legendary state-run Editions Syliphone label. We've decided to premiere the extended (DJ friendly) Hide & Smile edit on the A side. There's throbbing bass and keyboard interplay punctuated by classic Guinee guitar lines, metronomic drumming and 80s synth sweeps eventually drops into a more recognisable Guinean vocal outing. "Hot on the heels of their critically praised album "Havana '58" and with fans worldwide clamoring for more, The Bahama Soul Club has now called upon a brilliant range of producers, DJs and artists to put their own personal spin on Bahama's latest release. Sifting through the album's finest moments they worked their magic on selected tracks and rebooted them into pure rhythmic bliss: "The Havana Remixes" is a bright collection of Latin, House, Jazz, Funk, Soul & Disco with a thoroughly modern take on Dancefloor Jazz.

Opener "Muévelo Papi" is a stirring 60s Boogaloo-hip-twist by the mighty Club Des Belugas, while Geordie mate Smoove from Newcastle turns “No Words” into a fusion of Jazz-house and Breakbeat. Opolopo pulls "Dizzy's Bounce" deeeep into jazzy House while Maestro&Vezzola and Chinchin's Zouzoulectric vs. Gardener Of Delight both having a diverse view on "Tropicana Flight", giving it a Disco-Latin-House-Funk treatment.
Suonho from Italy jams a more modern Soul-Disco-Funk on "No Words" and amps up the funk quotient on "Muévelo Papi" with a touch of Jazz and a Latin Twist. Rounding off the release is an unexpected Nu-skool Brazilika-brukbeat from Positive Flow aka Jesse Reuben Wilson on "Elegguà" and some solid Latin funky breaks from Jack&Jointz on the rolling "Rumba Fugaz".

All remixes are mastered by The Uncle and very special radio-edits were made exclusively for the beautiful 180g vinyl. Containing nine tracks, this 12" looks like a neat introduction for newcomers and a nice round up for long-term Bahama Soul Club admirers. The full extended versions of all remixes will be released on CD and Digital formats."

DENI SHAIN BIOGRAPHIE
Deni Shain is DJ, producer and percussionist. After having travelled the world for almost 20
years searching for new music and artists, he discovered along the way a stash of rare musical
pearls - in Europe, Africa and Latin America - music which he shares with us to enjoy in his
energetic DJ sets.
Today, he broadcasts his remixes and musical adaptations in parties, festivals and clubs
around the globe.
For 6 years, he worked in close collaboration with the label Analog Africa (Frankfurt). He
compiled Space Echo and POP MAKOSSA, which were both very well receieved by DJs and
music lovers globally. It was these two compilations that recently helped him to be spotted
and interviewed by Gilles Peterson for his Worldwide FM show.
Having played in major European and international clubs such as Lux Fragil (Lisbon),
Hinterhof (Basel), House of the People (Brussels), Trackers (Sao Paulo), Deni Shain has also
played in lots of festivals including: Les Docks des Suds (France), Recbeat Festival (Brazil),
Zapata Vive (Mexico), Goulash Disco (Croatia), Pete the Monky (France), Suds d'Arles
(France), and Juicy Beats (Germany).
In 2015, he was invited to Recife's WOMEX to give a lecture on "the art of bringing back
the Afro-Caribbean music of the 1970s" and to present and share his approach and remixing
technique.
After opening and running a cultural center in Mexico for four consecutive years (where he
produced 240 artists in all disciplines) he decided to return to France. On his return, he
established his base in Marseille and now organises his own evenings called "Tropical
Clubbing."
Currently, he is working on launching his own label "Atangana Records". The label (which is
going to launch in 2018) will mainly focus on current Afro Caribbean music, as well as
younger up and coming talent.
Deni Shain is a real "Tropicalist" combining sounds from African, Brazilian, Latin, Soul,
Reggae and more Electronic beats. He invites you to come with him on his journey into
sound which has only one aim : to make you dance, and as much as possible !!!
