Ciao a tutti,

and welcome to my mix for June and my sweet spot: Italo Disco.

As some might know already I'm deep into Italo Disco for quite some time. It all started by cruising in Marcus tuned Opel Corsa from his brother blasting 'Boys' from Sabrina, me cringing about it in the first place but slowly and surely falling into love with Italo.

For this mix I tried to pick some of my favourite Italo Disco tracks (at least the ones I own 😅) that would fit into what I call 'Italo Disco Classics'. So unfortunately no Sabrina but watch out, there's more to come.

Berlin-based Curses brings a romantic edge to the dance floor, blending 80's New Wave, the darker side of Italo-Disco and flashes of EBM with his own ghostly vocals.

The debut album from Curses, 'Romantic Fiction' dropped on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno imprint in October 2018, launching his live act which brings the guitars, vocals and energy of the album to stage as a duo.
 Whether it's DJng in the main room at Circoloco DC-10, or performing live at festivals like, Nuits Sonores, Curses brings punk and new wave energy to all dance floors of any size.

Curses has also released on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi, Oráculo Records, and Wrong Era, and curated a double- LP vinyl compilation (NEXT WAVE ACID PUNX) Via Belgian powerhouse, N.E.W.S, showcasing a passion for New Beat, Early EBM, Post-punk and obscure Italo which gained critical acclaim worldwide. 

The 2nd album, 'Incarnadine' returned to Dischi Autunno in April, with a special edition vinyl in collaboration with Parisian Fashion brand, Saint Laurent.
Curses continues to bring a romantic and punk energy to the club, threading the ethereal nostalgia of the 80s and 90s into the future of now.

Happy Holidays to all my followers, Listeners and supporters. I’d like to welcome you all to listen to my latest mix and It gives me great pleasure and I am excited to introduce my special guest mix for the show from DJ Ian Perry !! 

Ian has been DJing for over 20 years across many venues in London, with a huge passion for Disco, House and everything in between. He is well-known for being part of DJ duo DeepNDisco, with his long time friend, Nick Standen, beginning with a residency in 2016 at established Croydon night, Funkme. For the last 4 years they have been regulars at Up On the Roof at Brixton’s iconic Prince of Wales, playing alongside many of the scene’s biggest names including Dave Lee, Norman Jay MBE, Dimitri from Paris, Shapeshifters, Crazy P, Cj Macintosh and many more, while also co-hosting over 100 episodes of their fortnightly radio show on d3ep Radio network.

Heading their separate ways, Ian has been doing solo gigs, such as supporting Michael Gray at his new Sultra event, and has launched a very popular series of mixes on his Soundcloud page. We’re delighted to have Ian on the show, and we're sure you’re going to love his guest mix… it’s full of energy and a real mix across the house genres.

Virtual Geisha - Kraków-based DJ. She began her adventure with an electronic music quite recently, back in 2015, yet it's an adventure that turned into a proper underground merrymaking. Very early in her DJing career she began curating her own regular event called "Trips for the Lonely Hearted" where she invited both local acts and rising stars from across the border. She collects a wide spectrum of cuts on wax ranging from early electronics, ambient, dark tunes from 80s' up to modern techno, electro and acid.
