The music on offer is richly textured, and though techno's thundering pulse plays a major role in the proceedings, Fengler also finds time to flirt with various house tropes and explore both darkly dubby and brightly melodic passages. Beyond that, the whole thing has been expertly mixed, which comes as little surprise given the man's impressive pedigree.

Berlin-via-Manchester newcomer Barney Khan throws down on Hyp 243 with a suitably raucous journey through some of the best Techno in the past few years. Opening proceedings with the clattering ambience of Scuba's 'Levitation' from this year's 'Claustrophobia' LP, Khan then gives us a taste of two of his own understated constructions before launching into a barrage of full throttle dance floor artillery from the likes of UVB, Lucy and Objekt.

Antonio Vázquez (@versenkt) hails from Seville, Spain, but learnt his art as a DJ in Madrid in the 2000s. After moving to Berlin in 2011, he began focusing his energy on producing and mixing deep techno, while never losing his eclectic edge. He has released on such forward-thinking labels as @shaded-explorations, @hypnus Records, and @semantica-records, while taking up bookings at clubs including ://about blank, Komme, psuescho_club, B/RUT, Research, Tresor and Berghain.

Distinguished by atmospheric and organic timbres, his music floats between austere minimalism and vivid expansiveness, but never loses its drive and urgency. This kaleidoscopic fusion of elements characterises his mix for Patterns of Perception.

That is exactly what has happened and still happens with Fatima Hajji, she was born with those qualities. Every time she gets on stage in front of an audience or locks herself in the recording studio, she transmits it with extreme facility. She possesses a great talent on selecting club music (muscled electronic sounds), good skills in the mix, etc. It is especially remarkable when she is confronting a packed dance floor when the 'magic button light’ goes on leading an innate symbiosis with the crowd. Bio:

ANGEL is a French artist who began DJing and promoting events in London in 2012. The British capital is the starting point of her musical career. After living 7 years in London, she continued her journey exploring deeper minimal sounds in Berlin and released her first track “Moons & Stars” (2016). Later she moved to Asia and while between Bali and Tokyo, ANGEL released a new experimental techno EP on Aethee Records (2017) and performed as a DJ in Jenja (Bali) and Vent (Tokyo). It was in Japan that she found the deep and hypnotic techno she had been searching for. After some time back home in Paris, ANGEL is now releasing a new EP “Hellish Paradise” (2019) on Systolic Records. Her work is influenced by artists and labels such as Attic Music, Affin, Hypnus Records, Ostgut Ton, and Systolic which are aligned with her love for the deeper sides of techno. ANGEL is also a music journalist writing regularly for DJ Tech Tools and Magnetic in the USA and  for BPM Supreme. interviewing international artists and personalities of the DJ world.
