Hi  I'm Tony Walsh - Longfella, a Manchester (UK) based poet, writer and artist in education.  In 2011 I was website poet-in-residence for the world renowned Glastonbury Festival from where my work featured on BBC1, BBCRadio2, BBC6Music and in the rock magazine Q. I have been invited to perform everywhere from The British Library to The Palace of Science and Culture in Warsaw, Poland for The British Council.   From the Royal Shakespeare Company 50th anniversary celebrations to festivals, prisons, schools, colleges, universities, conferences and on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral for OccupyLSX. Our short doc, Wild West Dream, the story of the only UK cowboy, premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival in 2009. Most recently, our short film, Sounds of Us, was featured as part of the critically acclaimed Museum of Broken Relationships and is now on permanent exhibition in Zagreb. 

Shift Control Delete, a feature documentary questioning how a loss of the Internet and social networking will affect society, is currently in post-production. We have also created Home Baked Stories - a food series focusing on the stories behind the food. 

Our web series, Raptured, released in October, 2011 has garnered almost 1/2 million views and a second season will be out in 2013.

I'm a poet working across the UK and straddling the border between literary poetry and poetry for performance. The selection here offers some 'proper' poems (The Shipwright's Love Song, Last) but also some more lightweight ones. I used to work as an archaeologist and I now live on a boat - so these things too are reflected in the content of my poetry.
