Dephonix has been immersed in electronic music since childhood. Clubber for over 25 years, DJ & Vocalist for 20 years, promoter, internet radio station owner, digital label manager & music maker. Dephonix has received kudos from all areas of the dance music scene & requests to DJ all over the world. 

At aged 4 Dephonix had a record player & an eclectic pile of records. A large serving of Hip Hop, Acid House, mainstream Pop & Rock dished up daily  during the formative years had her hooked on dance music, and by her early teens Dephonix was going to nightclubs and listening to breakbeat hardcore. With a love for everything electronic her mixing ability encompasses every genre of electronic dance music, making her the UK's most versatile female DJ. DnB, House - all elements, Hardcore, Jungle, Electro, Disco, Hip Hop, Hard House, Prog Trance, Dubstep, Breakbeat Hardcore, Garage, Breakz, Acid House/Rave, Hard Trance/Hard Dance.

Have been a long time follower of many forms of electronic music ranging from ambient drone to freaked out Warp/Rephlex techno. I have a special fondness for all things breakbeat based - oldskool hardcore, jungle, drum & bass, hardcore breaks. I have been an avid vinyl/CD collector of these genres for many years, despite being utter rubbish at mixing.

As of February 2014, I made the leap from listener to producer after a good bit of prompting from Leonized (https://soundcloud.com/leonized) to pull the finger out and give music making a bash. I have been heavily inspired by artists from the 1993-1994 darkcore jungle-hardcore period. Especially the likes of Ray Keith, Bizzy B, DJ SS, Nebula II, Jungle Buddah, Chaos & Julia Set, and DJ Mayhem. I'm still at the very early stages of stringing samples together to re-create that oldskool hardcore/jungle sound, but am looking to get better at each track I knock up. :D
