Wow. 200 Episodes already! We would like to thank our beloved community from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible support. No words can describe the feeling to see our passion project receiving approval from such a wonderful, engaging and steadily growing crowd. It is wonderful too, that our fun concept can motivate our most favourite artists to deliver 200 incredibly delicious cocktails of electronic music over the past 5 years. Looking at the lineup for 2022, we're not lying if we tell you it's gonna be even better!

Ben and Flo created Schirmchendrink together. And while recording their first Schirmchendrink episode, their current collab was born: Gimérique.

Even tough it got a little quiet these days around the duo with releases on Sound Avenue or Harabe Records, they have lots of music coming up soon including collaborations with amazing talents they met, guess what, on their Schirmchendrink journey. 

It's amazing to have you guys back together behind the meanwhile world-famous Schirmchendrink bar counter. While Carribbean Cask was a link to Ben's favorite drink, they brewed something special for the 200 episode anniversary. It's delicious ingredients bring their special craft IPA notes of dreamy yet always groovy deep house pearls. As usual, their storytelling approach adds its unique touch to another fantastic Gimérique ride.

Boy With Boat and Jesse Kuch deliver the live recording of their closing set for the Love Camp session on the Tribal Council stage at Elements Festival 2021 in Queensland, Australia.

With festival classics mixed with the latest in melodic techno and progressive, including their new Joined A Cult Remix of James Monro's New Religion on Proton Music, it was the perfect end to a monumental festival. After many years of long sets and building dancefloors, i find that there’s a lot of music i’ve played that rarely gets a listen or is eventually forgotten about and over the last few years i’ve been compiling a list of couch music that you don’t neccesarily have to sit down to. This mix has a plethora of those tunes old and new, reflecting on a few quiet years of partying and downtime whilst trying to capture all those special moments from the late night Love Camp Couch. What a pleasure it is to have been able to put this together for such an awesome mix series!

DEPTH. PERCEPTION with RETZA

One of Melbourne's true hidden gems, Dave Leck (soundcloud.com/daveleckmusic) joins us for the second episode of the series. Dave's sound is the perfect blend of smooth, melodic, progressive house with a balanced undertone of grooving basslines. As of late, making serious waves internationally, he has found himself releasing on labels such as 3rd Avenue, Emotional Content Records, inU and Particles to name a few. 

Listening closely to Leck’s music we knew he would fit the brief perfectly for our new concept and we had to have him on board. A true gentleman, with a mature ear for production, he will continue to impress both world-wide and here in Australia.

DEPTH. PERCEPTION with FUNKFORM

Timmus takes us on a mystical journey through his signature sound for the fourth instalment of the Perception series. This is an extremely special episode to us hosting our first ever album showcase, letting Timmus present his musical productions live in a scenic outdoor environment. We were gifted with a moody and foggy morning in a forest location in the Victorian mountain ranges, which suited the soundtrack perfectly.

‘The Bridge’ has been in creation for the past couple of years, with Timmus stating it to be his best work to date. After listening closely to the entirety of the collection, we couldn’t agree more. Featuring smooth deep house grooves, weaving through quirky complex micro house, and followed by a flavoursome serving of upbeat minimal tech. This creation covers all styles Timmus represents so perfectly, and he does so in such style. A true performer while on stage, he does not disappoint with his eclectic dance and visual display of the music he is presenting to the world.

The album has just been released through Melbourne’s very own Smash Bang Records, with a string of album launch events to follow around the country. But here we present to you ‘The Bridge’ live in 4K from one of the countries favourite producers, Timmus.

DEPTH. PERCEPTION With TIMMUS

Australian Kia very quickly rose up through the grimy after-hours rave scene of Melbourne to make her mark on the international stage. Now Berlin-based, her unique grasp of rhythm is rooted in a love of bass, IDM and deeper techno though she is adept at exploring a wide range of moods within those worlds. She has done so at places like ADE and our own festival and extends her good taste to the curation of her Animalia imprint and its ambient sub-label Cirrus as well as her own original tracks on Nous'klaer Audio.

In this week's mix, Kia showcases a colourful and kaleidoscopic take on techno which she says was awakened by an early trip to Japan's famously head Labyrinth festival. It's a hi-fidelity feast of supple rhythms, icy synths and deep space ambiance that unfolds in late-night fashion. The melodies are as delicate as silk, the drums rubbery yet punchy. It's high-paced future music that manages to be as delicate and beautiful as it is dynamic.

Dekmantel Podcast 440 - Kia

After a short hiatus to regroup and brainstorm at DEPTH. HQ, we return to our beloved Perception series with an artist pushing the boundaries with his own distinctive sound. Next up performing his original music is none other than Mount Mike. 

A well known and loved figure within the electronic music scene here in Australia, Mike is one of the brains behind Premium Tuna. A radio show presenting some of the best local artists and showcasing their music over the KISS FM airwaves. 

He has been living between Canada and Australia over the past few years, and honing his sound by blending deep, quirky tech house, with influences of acid and 2000’s electro. With a string of releases to his name, he has been working with some incredible artists from across the globe. Collaborating with names such as Boy Oh Boy, Savaggio, Fosters, Gilles Bernies, and attracting remixes from artists like Kellerkind, Joe Miller, Connor Mac, Sparrow and Barborossa, Rem Siman and more. 

A dark moody sunset was the backdrop for the performance, filmed right on the coastline here in Victoria. Mount Mike guides us through a very unique set list of his music. Plenty of unreleased tracks, featuring vocals, acid basslines, chopped percussion grooves, which move through various styles of his signature sound. So, strap yourself in as we embark on a journey to Mount Mike.
