2013 #03: rktic - Und das Rauschen

I’ve been wanting to play a yoga set for a long time, but I rarely get the opportunity… so when one of my dearest friends, Adam Schwartzbaum, asked me to provide the soundtrack for his mid-week practice at Miki Mau, I jumped on it. I spent a lot of time prepping for this set and I’m really looking forward to hearing what you think of this brief departure from the typical vibe here on Welcome Hohme Radio…. And speaking of radio. If you’re listening on radio, or really anywhere other than soundcloud, the set will fade out around the 1hr mark. david hôhme - Miki Mau Yoga, Burning Man 2022

Thanks to a beautiful twist in time, we welcomed Unders to close The Seekers of Light ADE '22 showcase on the Saturday Day Event. This closing slot was initially meant for Viken Arman, but as it happen our Viken missed his plane. The upside of hosting events during ADE is that you likely find a replacement that you love and adore.

IN COMES UNDERS! He was on his way out after successfully hosting his own showcase on Thursday, but lucky us we managed to snatch him before he left.

A magnificent set followed! The element of surprise in this last minute performance carried out throughout his performance and he managed to take us on the perfect journey.

Perhaps his best performance in our Babylon up to this date.. What do you think?

Unders - The Seekers of Light ADE Showcase 2022

"It’s 2022. We are back on playa after the pandemic break. With us, Mayan Warrior in its natural habitat. 
 
We ride out in the middle of a dust storm, along with my chosen 100 tracks. The selection is inspired by what Mayan Warrior means to me. It represents the fusion between contemporary art and tradition. Crazy lasers over the handcrafted god’s eye. Unmatched sound coming from a millenary Mayan figure. A representation of what makes Mexico such a special place.

It’s a mix of old tracks I love and unreleased music from some of my favorite artists. A lot of it from Mexican artists and labels. As I am about to start, I see dozens of bikes powering through the storm. I trash my original plan on song 2 as I try to capture the moment. Eventually, a beautiful sunset emerges. This is my set on top of the Mayan Warrior.

I hope you like it. Thank you to everyone that came out to ride with me. And THANK YOU Mayan team. Thank you for the insane amount of work put in this beautiful piece of art roaming the desert. For the years of inspiration and incredible music."

My PlayAlchemist set was by far gonna be my biggest set of the week. It simply wasn't meant to be as the rain shut down their camp for the rest of the burn (big time sad face)! I spent a lot of time crafting this set with the vibe of this epic camp in mind and re-recorded it in hopes that the energy and vibe I intended can be captured a bit...this set was meant to be played from 12:30am to 2:30am so clearly I planned a bit more than that with the intention of playing the section(s) that felt best in the moment.

There are only a handful of places on the planet where electronic music is treated like art.  The bus is one of them, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share music on it.   The tracks in this set are my own original compositions or edits. I consider this to be an album release.   The music is, for the most part, tuned to 432hz in Just Intonation. This tuning follows the harmonic series, and is in harmony with the mathematics of nature.   I hope you feel it with as much love as I put in. Finally, I want to thank the Robot Heart team for working on the system through the night to get the bus out that morning. Your effort meant a great deal to me.
