"Saturday in NYC was by far one of the best nights of my life. Tipper & lil Johnny Singer had some kids seriously rethinking their lives. I heard one kid saying he needed to call his mom to tell her he loved her... Priceless. The after party at Slake went off flawlessly. Definitely the biggest and most beautiful crowd I've had the opportunity to play for. Never mind the cage dancing, top notch sound and production staff. So much love to everyone in attendance and everyone who helped make it happen. Lostinsound tribe was in full force and full rage-alia. Haven't seen that many of the crew together in years. . BIG UPS to the Planet Cognac fam, Mr. Bugsley and Good Looks NY for making monolithic moves in NYC. Watching everyone work together towards spreading experimental art and music in the heart of babylon is incredibly inspiring to say the least."

We expected the uncompromising blend of upbeat melodies and jack’n beats that we’ve become accustomed to from the Retro resident and Karima delivered, true to form. Karima brought a selection of House and Disco tracks to our Sauna that spoke to our most primal impulses with a predilection for the dance floor. She didn’t pull any punches and even though it took place on a Sunday evening, her Jæger mix is the perfect soundtrack to your Wednesday afternoon.

And as such she is curating for DRIFT ASHORE - a radio show, blog and podcast series. In 2018 she even got her own show on RADIO FRITZ called “Nightflight House”. This woman, simply WOW! 
She organized “Lucid Dreams”, her own monthly rooftop parties at @Klunkerkranich - the best place in Berlin to spend a sprizzy summer vacay Sunday. Hope we can enjoy this again this year! ☀️

FUN FACTS: 
- She enjoys silence in the mornings the most.
- She likes playing at bars even though often people don’t pay attention.
- She has around 65 plants and her eldest is a pilea.  
- She likes Zolastraße in Berlin, especially because it’s just one block short. 

For us she’s recorded a multicultil disco summer revival - full of balearic, Latin, Afro and Brazil sounds and Vitamin D. You can almost smell the sun lotion in the sundrenched atmosphere of her set.

🗯🗯 Wie hat Corona dein Künstlerleben verändert? 🗯🗯

Grundlegend. Seit fast einem Jahr gibt es so gut wie gar keine Möglichkeiten mehr vor Publikum aufzulegen und wenn, wie im Spätsommer oder Herbst, dann unter komplett anderen, strengen Bedingungen. Andererseits haben wir alle die Zeit genutzt, um noch mehr Musik zu diggen und Mixtapes aufzunehmen oder Stream-Sets zu spielen. Das ersetzt einen Gig vor Publikum zwar nicht annähernd, aber man kann es auch als Inventur der bisher geleisteten Arbeit als DJ und Selector*in begreifen.

🗯🗯 Wo habt ihr diesen Mix aufgenommen? 🗯🗯

Wir haben von zuhause und zu dritt am Tape gearbeitet und die Arbeit ein bisschen aufgeteilt. Zola und Buzz Boris haben das Konzept aufgestellt und die Selektion übernommen, was bei der speziellen Ausrichtung des Tapes Richtung subkultureller NDW-Sounds ziemlich aufregend war. Marinelli hat auch noch ein paar Tracks mit reingeworfen, aber vor allem aufgenommen, Schräubchen gedreht und das Mastering übernommen. Im Chat haben wir dann die Feinheiten diskutiert und uns gegenseitig Feedback gegeben. Das hat irre viel Spaß gemacht und hat auch auf die Distanz wirklich erstaunlich gut funktioniert. Wir denken sogar schon über ein Follow-Up Mixtape nach.

🗯🗯 Was wünschst du dir für die Zeit nach oder mit Corona? 🗯🗯

Gesamtgesellschaftlich wünschen wir uns Nachsicht, Solidarität und Zusammenhalt untereinander. Aber natürlich auch eine Perspektive für die ziemlich allein gelassenen Künstlerinnen und Künstler. Wir haben alle noch andere Jobs bzw. eine Absicherung, viele unsere Freundinnen und Freunde nicht. Für die Zeit nach Corona wünschen wir uns, dass wir uns wieder ausgelassen und gemeinsam an fantastischer Musik erfreuen können. Und weniger Bildschirme!

As deejaying is not possible right now, she’s spending most of her time in getting a bit more into producing and edit-making.
Her in-depth knowledge of disco, soul, funk, and house music shines through her beautiful selections that keep the good vibes flowing, and for this Tiella Sound Radio mix she decided to focus on her deep/housy side.
