2023 #11: Pyrococcus - Xiphias III

I've started composing around 1997 on Impulse Tracker and DigiBooster. It was a time, when Amiga had been almost dead and PC-scene due to development of the internet, had been slowly vanishing... Then I gave up tracking after chernobyl virus destroyed all of my previous work in 2003.
Few years ago I've downloaded OpenMPT and I've soaked into tracking again... I'm rewriting old ideas and composing new song using this powerful tool.
I hope you'll have as much fun listening to my songs, as I do have composing them!

Evosonic Radio was the world's first independent radio station for electronic music, which could be received via cable and satellite from 1997 to 1999. 
Evosonic Radio did not submit to the conventions of format radio, but gave its music editors and DJs a lot of freedom. 
This concept, unique in Germany, won the "German Dance Award" in the "Best Medium" category in January 2000. Chris-Maico Schmidt aka Mike S., who was responsible for the music played most of the time as program director, accepted this award. 15 years later he founded Evosonic Records. Today, as then, Chris-Maico Schmidt makes sure that the label does not submit to any conventions and that his artists have the freedom that is indispensable for the one same goal: high musical quality - then as now.

- Music... that's what makes me laugh and cry the most. I love the moments when music touches you... or, as Vilallobos called it, is "emotionally offensive." You could say I've been collecting DJ sets for about 30 years, and it's wonderfully exciting to keep discovering new styles and edits.
