I didn't understand it at the time. I fail to achieve any degree of understanding in the ensuing years, which are three in number. I presume Herb means that inherently you cannot be commercial and artistic. You cannot be commercial and quality. You cannot be commercial concurrent with have a preoccupation with the level of storytelling that you want to achieve. And this I have to reject. I don't think calling something commercial tags it with a kind of an odious suggestion that it stinks, that it's something raunchy to be ashamed of. I don't think if you say commercial means to be publicly acceptable, what's wrong with that?
As long as you are not ashamed of anything you write if you're a writer, as long as you're not ashamed of anything you perform if you're an actor, and I'm not ashamed of anything.
This is the area I know. But I think innate in what Herb says is the suggestion made by many people that you can't have public acceptance and still be artistic. And, as I said, I have to reject that.

And so it continues… His musical selection is best described as pure, deep, melodic vibes which takes you “Duboko” (“Deep” in Croatian)! Trough his sets you can feel eclectic beautiful synth works, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, oriental sounds, and occasional vocal hooks. His music styles are open minded. He practises emotional tunes, and it does not matter whether are new or old. It is important that they raise his emotional moment which can reach out to listeners through his selections. After a year-long hiatus, Cubicolor proudly announce their newest single ‘Points Beyond’, lifted from their upcoming sophomore album ‘Hardly A Day, Hardly A Night’. Blurring the organic and electronic divide with their introspective sound, Cubicolor’s 2016 debut album ‘Brainsugar’ saw praise by Mixmag, Spin, and Clash, and garnered support from a host of heavyweight DJs including Pete Tong, Joris Voorn, and Kölsch.  Accumulating over 40M streams, the album solidified the trio as a unique voice in the European underground, a reputation they look to build on with their follow-up LP, out early 2020.

There could be an emotional text about how much fun @christianloeffler’s concerpt in Yerevan was in January, but because he got sick the day before, it was postponed and turned into Concerpt №2. Then there could be a text about how much fun Löffler’s concerpt was in April, but we didn’t even get to announce that one as the coronavirus was quicker to announce its tour dates. And the only thing we can do now is share this mix, which is so good and so much about the days we are living now; days that have definitely forced us to rethink our lives and pay attention to the invisible happy moments that until now got lost in our daily routine; and generally times that will make us look at the life we had before and change the way we’ll look at the days we are going to be living once everything is over. It all may seem too romantic or far from reality, and things may return to their normal state after all, but nothing will be the same anymore. And this mix will remain as the sole thing connecting us from the past days to ourselves in the days to come.

With his label crew, he shaped the sound of the city for more than 15 years now. Lucky for us we can call him one of our residents.
