Amaya Sunn, an up and coming Singer/Songwriter was born in Ethiopia and raised in New York City.  Her soulful indie sound brings a unique perspective to the modern R&B scene. Her style is a fusion of Nina Simone, Erykah Badu and Kate Bush. Writing and music is in her genes. Amaya Sunn's grandfather was a known composer of hymns for the ancient Ethiopian Church of Zion. Growing up in Harlem and the Upper West Side, Amaya was exposed to a diverse array of cultures and experiences. Her music is influenced by the grittiness of the city and the rich heritage of her east African lineage. With lyrics that are raw and empowering she reveals introspective experiences of pain, self discovery and love.  As an artist Amaya Sunn isn't afraid to be vulnerable. Telling her story through sonic pictures, the timeless and melodic nature of her music draws the listener into an intimate world that evokes thought and inspires emotion. She's recently teamed up with producer MajorMinorKeyz to create her debut EP entitled Love & Heartbreak.
