Todo tiene sonido, ritmo, la mejor manera de encontrarse con la esencia del universo es a través de la música de cada cosa y cada ser sobre la tierra, cantar es orar, cantar es conectar con el tambor que late en medio del pecho, ese que nos recuerda la fuerza del espíritu y el primer sonido percutor, el corazón de nuestras madres.

We live in a world filled with a wide variety of places to focus our attention. Some beneficial for our spiritual growth and others not so much. Sri Ramakrishna once said " The mind will take the color you dye it with. It is like white clothes just returned from the laundry. If you dip them in red dye, they will be red. If you dip them in blue or green, they will be blue or green. They will take only the color you dip them in, whatever it may be." We spend all day filling our minds with unnecessary things, dying it with undesirable colors. Lets take a break and sing of the Divine, to the Divine in us all...and dye the mind with God.

Asthmatic Kitty Records is an independent record label that was co-founded by Lowell Brams and his stepson, singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens, in 1999. Since its founding, AKR has released albums by a variety of artists, including Lily & Madeleine, My Brightest Diamond and Helado Negro, and is currently home to Sufjan Stevens, Angelo De Augustine, Denison Witmer and The Welcome Wagon. 

Asthmatic Kitty was named after Sara, an orange and white tabby who wandered out of the woods pregnant and starving near Holland, Michigan in 1994. For fourteen years she brought joy as a beloved friend to Lowell, enjoying a happy life despite her initial hardships. Her asthma improved after moving west to New Mexico and Wyoming, where she lived out her days as an asthmatic kitty in name only.
