It's not all about Berlin, there is also some great music coming out of the rest Germany. Upcoming artist Name_Less is based in Düsseldorf and promisses to break the current codes of techno: his infusion of house pads and vocals into the groove is reminiscent of a period where the two genres could meet within a set, or even a track. The revival of Hardgroove is also about this: bringing the soul back into these 4x4 beats. This "Ritual Groove" EP does it extremely well with a Chicago energy and dub bass-lines that deliver a gorgeous nostalgic feel. 

On the B Side, TRACKSÜIT90 and DJ SUN put a spin on it. Glasgow producer TRACKSÜIT90 remixes the title track with an absurdly powerful angle, taking the tribal drums and vocals for a ride. This is Hardgroove meets Power House at its best. Finally, we needed some actual techno to round this off, and DJ SUN does not disappoint: layering stabbing voices and electrifying textured the Swiss artist delivers a minimalistic and superbly deep rework of "Hit Em".

Stojche is an exciting DJ and producer from Skopje, Macedonia, who is currently based in Madrid. Following on from his superb contribution to Mutual Rytm’s ‘Federation of Rytm II’ compilation, here, he now serves up his first EP of the year with a first outing on X, the sister label of SHDW’s Mutual Rytm, with ‘Stomping Ground’.

This EP opens up with the powerful ‘Stomping Ground’, a scintillating blend of tightly programmed kicks and reverberating percussive lines. The textured percussion shimmers over the racing beats and cannot fail to sweep dancers off their feet. ‘Oberheim’ is another high-class, high-impact sound with muted melodies thinking over the twisting and turning drums and bass which never let up and ooze warm machine soul. ‘Consequence’ keeps the pressure on with tight drums and raw percussive layers softened by smeared dub chords. Digital bonus ‘The Vault’ shuts down with thumping kicks and rave-ready synth stabs that will erupt on peak-time floors.

Macedonian artist Stojche kicks off Mutual Rytm X’s 2025 schedule with his blistering new EP, ‘Stomping Ground’.
