The opening track ‘drunk MC’ is nothing short of a bottle of champagne — playful, fizzy, juicy, and groove-drenched. It sets the tone with energy and flair, highlighting Ilya’s love for crafting dynamic structures through contrasting elements. Barcelona-based record label Adepta unveil ‘Sleek Vibra’, a dystopian missive from Rome-based producer Alessandro Gramaccioni, operating under the cryptonym AFM...Our pick, ‘Kamui Effect’, opens with a scrambled polyphony of laser-guided distress signals and shortwave interference, as if intercepted from a rogue satellite in psychic orbit. What follows is a hyperventilated stutter of metallic percussions and spasmodic low-end sequences, sound architecture for dancefloors warped by fever dreams. A harp flickers in and out like a ghost in the circuitry, while distant male voices echo through steel ducts. Nervous and high-functioning, it feels like an artefact from a club night that never ended, or perhaps never began. Vocal chops, layered breaks, and gritty loops collide with hypnotic drum patterns to create something raw, rhythmic, and forward-looking. QEYS pulls from the golden era of techno and hip-hop — dusty acapellas, chopped breaks, crate-dug textures, and reworks them into ultimate tools for any DJ set.
The track is drenched in raw, spray-can-like textures and dynamic momentum, as if it
could break free at any moment. Chrome Red is a graffiti piece painted straight into your
ears. The name comes from a classic graffiti color combo that dominated the artist's
neighbourhood in the late 2010s—chrome fill with a red outline, a timeless staple of the
style. This track is a tribute to the grafti culture he grew up with, a scene that shaped him as
a teenager and continues to leave its mark on his creative process.
