Recently it seems like everyone has been struggling recently, myself included. Some days it feels hard to get out of bed, to be excited about the things that would normally make me happy. My 4th album 'Chop Suey' is an exploratory journey of my heritage and sound. The album art is a painting by my late Grandfather, Fred Eng. It paints a vibrant scene straight out of the heart of San Fransisco's China Town. My Grandfather passed when I was 4 years old and unfortunately, due to the pressure to assimilate, much of my Chinese heritage has vanished. Through art, music, and photography I have the opportunity to rekindle that connection and explore my generational roots. This album is a homage to my ancestors and a rekindling of their wisdom that is in my DNA.

His aim, to make the imagination run wild; to tickle the brain in impossible ways. Originally hailing from New York, Joseph spent his childhood tinkering with old radios and building computers, fascinated bu the near endless possibilities that they presented. Inspired by artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Monolake, and Luke Vibert, he picked up a copy of Ableton Live and a myriad of synthesizers and hasn't left his cave since. Now 4 years later Detox Unit has become a familiar and loved name in the Austin experimental music scene known for his intricately woven sets and unique productions.
