Mister T. records, ou MTT, est un label et collectif de DJs. Lancé en 2015 par 4 amoureux et collectionneurs de vinyles s’installant à Paris, le projet s’est mué au fil des années en un véritable label. Avec leurs 3 sorties vinyles et plusieurs compilations digitales, l’objectif de MTT est de partager, par le biais d’edits et de reworks, les sonorités oubliées qui les inspirent : disco, musiques brésiliennes ou italo. Lorsqu’ils en ont l’occasion, les MTT n’hésitent pas à sortir les pecs pour venir présenter leurs derniers morceaux en club pour des B2B électriques ! C’est ce savant mélange d’influences qu’ils ont voulu retranscrire pour ce podcast en y ajoutant un peu de l’énergie de leurs soirées.

Ladies and gents, dancers and DJs, artistes and amigos... it's with great pleasure that we formally launch episode #1 of our the Desert Island Disco 'Islander Cast' podcast series. The 'Islander Cast' series seemed the most natural way for us to extend our passion for discovering and sharing amazing music from talented DJs, musicians and producers who share our love of era-spanning, genre-hopping boogie music. 

The first mix in the series is brought to you by exciting French DJ, Souldade, who we believe perfectly captures the essence of our sound.

Souldade navigates across eras & genres to unearth overlooked tunes. His mixes and edits take you to forgotten dream places, from sunbathed exotic poolsides to moist outmoded clubs. Travelling back and forth between Europe, Africa, Brazil, American cities and other Caribbean islands, the motto remains unchanged: move you and make you move.

Following an intense, careless summer, this mix was for Souldade the perfect medium to enter the gloomier season that was ahead of every single one of us. Slowly switching from warm, bitter-sweet lovers rock songs to colder italo sounds, Souldade builds this typical outdated atmosphere he loves so much, and paves the way to more club-oriented tracks including an unreleased edit in the finale!

Franklin was joined by production duo In Flagranti for a guestmix on this month's show. They supplied upbeat cosmic and psychedelic selections whilst Franklin held down the slower, chuggier end of the spectrum.

Robert Mureau, better known as MUREAU, is an 80s kid from Amsterdam keeping the 80s vibe alive. All it took was a perfect disco party to wake him from the dark depths of his techno mania - beautiful people with smiling faces, flamboyant clothing whilst not taking life to too seriously and united by the boogie. We like him for this broad selections whether its African, Italo and Arabic  disco, wave, electro, high NRG or something in between his selections won't fail to set your pulses racing. 

"As a big fan of the D.I.D. Selects Series, this mix is inspired by the versatile sound the D.I.D folk capture in their sets. This set also felt like one big fun experiment, mixing up styles and geographies - starting slow and a little more serious, progressing towards a high energy ending!"
