Imagine you are on a ride on a whale´s back through the world underneath the ocean´s surface. You will witness a rich, beautiful and exciting scenery. Whalerider´s music is as diverse as a submarine travel. Deeply influenced by Sub Pop´s early 90s discography with catchy melodies and choruses, that will be stuck in your head for days and be easing the pain of waiting for a new Soundgarden album. Shifting to heavy but groovy riffs somewhere near to the Melvins, taking a rest in your parents record collection flipping through records by Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin or obscure 70s psychedelic bands you have never heard of before. On top most of Whalerider´s songs have a jam feeling with hints of drone / ambient loosening song structures every now and then. So if you want to dive without traveling to the next sea, take a deep breath and enjoy the world of Whalerider.

Stellt euch vor, ihr reitet auf dem Rücken eines Wales, unterhalb der Wasseroberfläche, um dann Zeuge eines wunderschönen und sehr aufregenden Szenarios zu werden. Die Musik von Whalerider ist so vielfältig wie eine solche Tiefseefahrt, gespickt mit Melodien, die sich im Kopf festsetzen und dabei stark von der Musik des SubPop Labels beeinflusst sind. Gleichzeitig verändern sich diese Melodien in groovige Riffs, angesiedelt bei den Melvins und alten Plattensammlungen, angereichert mit Inhalten von Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd und obskuren psychedlic Bands, von denen nahezu noch niemand Kenntnis genommen hat. Darüber hinaus besitzt die Musik von Whalerider ein Jam-Gefühl mit Andeutungen auf die lockernden Songstrukturen von Drone/Ambient Musik.
