World-class sound alchemists filter Desert Dwellers’ classic psy- chilled grooves through a kaleidoscope of midtempo breaks and ornately-textured ambience. Yoga dub meets ethno-electronic bass music on this genre-bending journey through realms of sonic bliss and dancefloor ecstasy.

Some of the most forward thinking producers in the ethno-electronic scene embrace the Desert Dwellers concept on DownTemple Dub: Remixed, a reimagining of Desert Dwellers’ tranquility bass and groove-infused South Asian psy-chill fusion. Combining international excursions from pacesetting deep bass alchemists (Kalya Scintilla, Love & Light, Kaminanda, and Drumspyder among them), along with mainstay electronic artists (Aes Dana, Eastern Sun), and contributions from rising names in the burgeoning yoga-beat scene (Duke Mushroom, EarthRise SoundSystem, and Eccodek), the album is more than just deep bass, cool soundscapes and exotic voices. It is the expression of music’s ritual and scientific power. It is the pursuit of the transformative, communal experience that bass music and yoga share.

In today’s current EDM landscape, it seems too many producers are excessively focused on creating the filthiest or grimiest sound. While this can be entertaining at times, it goes without saying that there is so much more depth to the world of bass. One act is taking their respective scene to a whole new dimension—Desert Dwellers.  Its members spread across the southwest, northwest, and Socal, the collective consisting of Amani Friend, Treavor Moontribe, and Rara Avis has spent the last few years perfecting a fine-tuned sound that is both creative and exceedingly euphoric. The trio of temple-step producers got their start in the Southern California dance frontier known as Moontribe, and in making sonic strides have been able to craft a mesmerizing sound that combines the past, present, the future. Their effervescent and immersive music is nothing short of a sonic boom of electricity and soulful passion, which is demonstrated on releases like Muladhara Yoga Dub and the Spaces Between EP.

Desert Trax is proud to present the newest sonic offering from Desert Dwellers, "Dive Into Forever." Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe are unleashing another set of groundbreaking tracks on this EP.  This time they have collaborated with the soulful songstress Ixchel Prisma, who added a major component to the overall enchantment of these tunes.  Together they have seamlessly interwoven Ixchel's spacious lyrics within the forward moving psychedelic atmospheres of the desert. Showcasing their versatility as sound designers, Desert Dwellers have significantly adapted and developed their production value to best suit and complement the voice that shines throughout.
  
The first song, "Dive Into the Core", is overflowing with meditative modulations and a palpable poetic presence.  Greatly influenced by the work of Phaeleh, the track begins with a gentle whisper that invokes the feeling of a lullaby.  As it progresses, spacious synthesizers and a proliferation of pads filter in and out,  providing a blissful background for Ixchel's verses and catchy choruses.  "Dive Into the Core" is a very archetypal composition that will garner affection and adoration for its lovely lyrics and script, edifying the mystical nature of musical mythos, and the rebirth symbolism of the phoenix rising from the ashes. 

Harken back to the origin of Desert Dwellers and hear reborn the second song on this EP, which is a revamped rendition of one of their oldest and most beloved manifestations, "You Can See Forever." The hypnotic dance vibe of this version of the tune will most certainly captivate any listener.  The instrumentation and vibe is a lot more psychedelic compared to "Dive into the Core," featuring a heavy dose of delayed FX, ethnic woodwinds and incredible incantations.  When listening, It's pretty hard to not imagine yourself wandering the desert with an endless moonlit horizon in front of you.

Inspired by the genre blurring trends of late, Dodge & Fuski have turned their hands to a range of styles and tempos while in every way staying true to their innovative and sometimes quirky sound that is adored the world over.
