Music: Up by Ameriek

I traveled a lot by train during these last months between the North of France and the French Alps. So, to compose, I had no analog synth, no modular, no processing device, only a laptop.
I decided to compose during my travel time a suite of tracks with only two plug-ins in addition to the native Ableton tools: Pigments 3.5 by Arturia and Emergence by Daniel Gergely (a nice granular plug-in with a lot of possible modulations).
This piece, "Up", is a certain form of resonance with the sounds of the train on the old railroad network of the French countryside.
In Pigments 3.5, the sequencer can be strongly modulated to the point of being a chaotic generator of synthesis events. The granular Emergence technique I used on an auxiliary send brings a certain chaotic thickness to the sounds.

SJK is interested in the strange beauty that emerges when irregular sounds combine with patterned dance rhythms. He seeks to create moments in which different things, such as chaos and order, unfamiliarity and familiarity, attract each other.

The first manifesto of an inner cartography, This Is An Introduction To My World deploys a polysemic musical language in which syncopation becomes syntax through jungle, dubstep, dub and drum&bass. Hayashi conjures up a sensory hybridization on the fringes of bass music where polyrhythms textures and infrabasses collide.

Omen Wapta’s (@omenwapta) own Harald Uunk (@haralduunk) provided a liveset of haunting echoes, distorted washes, and sparse rhythmic fluxes. A sound distinct, inimitable, and so signature of the Omen Wapta milieu. These are spectres of lost drums buoyed on machine clouds. A dense fog.
