Here to show us how digital fusion can be danced to, Shady Monk from Philadelphia & That Andy Guy from Alabama have prepared a mixtape with fresh new songs and remixes of their faves. "Digital fusion" is basically the genre that DESKPOP first became known for before dipping into hyperpop. It's like vgm (video game music) but relies less on nostalgic sounds and more on complex rhythms + genre blending of jazz/funk/dance. Some of the featured musicians are well known in the digital fusion scene, and we can't wait to share those along with the full tracklist hehe.

FUSION DANCE is out August 20th! We'll reveal the full album artwork, the tracklist, photos of the CD, and drop a couple more singles between now and then, so stay tuned & keep dancing ♡

Serlöf’s “sound” is that he has no specific style; the only thing consistent is quality. Reinventing himself again, the “Imaginary Victories” EP is charged with tense and explosive moments that elevate his introspective lyrics. The lead single “They Told Me” brings us into a cold world, which is expanded upon in the Unity-built music video by the game developer Aaron Taecker-Wyss. Exciting, challenging, and innovative, Serlöf enters the hyperpop venn-diagram in the overlap with experimental jazz to give us another brilliant body of work.

LESS REPETITIVE SUPER BUBBLY BEAT FOR 15$

Fizzing Up: phrase; swelling out, expanding, potential energy rising, pressurizing, surging— especially before bursting. Part of DESKPOP since 2017, dynastic has grown immensely. Their debut helped coin the signature post-chiptune IDM sound the label is known for, with hits like “eefreef” and “Space Zone (ft. Braz_OS).” In 2018, they experimented under a temporary moniker “cola cap” making pop-punk with a vocal debut. Quite the pivot in that moment but truly ahead of its time, combining VGM sfx with guitars and a sad-boy demeanor. Now, dynastic returns with an even more refined blend of those two styles on the upcoming “</3” EP (you can pronounce it out loud as “heartbreak” if that’s easier). “Fizzing Up” is a cute & catchy song where dynastic fantasizes a lover fantasizing about them, and sets the stage for </3. You’ll hear bubbly sounds reminiscent of the SPACE/SUMMER EP juxtaposed with a sweet guitar riff here and there, plus some well rehearsed vocals. A subtle scream of “I JUST WANNA BE WITH YOU” during the bridge hints at the energy on the rest of </3, which drops 9/17.
