French duo Chicks Luv Us return to Desolat as Loco Dice welcomes them back to the label for their two- track release, "Rhell / Trippin".

Launched back in 2007 by internationally renowned DJ/producer Loco Dice, Desolat stands today with a history and reputation as rich as any within the global house realm. With the label relaunched after a brief hiatus earlier this year as Miami’s Cortes took the wheel for its big re-introduction, the label boss now reveals the second release of 2023 on the label as French pair Chicks Luv Us make an impressive return. Heading up their own CLU Recs and Encasa Records imprints while releasing material via Hot Creations, MÜSE, elrow and more, their breakthrough single ‘Qu’est Ce Qu’il Veut Lui?!’ on Desolat in 2019 saw them rack up a wealth of support from across the scene and stands today as a gem within their growing catalogue. Now returning four years later, early September brings two fresh productions on the label as they return with a pair of heavy-hitting cuts across "Rhell / Trippin".
Setting the tone via hefty kicks and menacing low-end tones before introducing wonky electronics, skippy hats and warped hip-hop vocal samples, the title cut "Rhell" is a no-nonsense and impactful production crafted for packed dancefloors as it marches forth with authority. Switching things up but keeping the energy levels high, "Trippin" fuses rubbery basslines, harsh metallic tones and squelchy acid-tinged leads for a chaotic yet precise and driving journey deeper into the peak hours.

Chicks Luv Us - "Rhell/Trippin" drops via Desolat on 8th September 2023.

A name known to many within the worlds of House and Techno, Francisco Allendes’ emergence as one of Ibiza’s most recognised names is certainly no coincidence. A core member of Loco Dice’s Serán Bendecidos family, Allendes’ history with Desolat lies deep after Dice noticed the Chilean and signed his ‘Animals’ EP’s back in 2013. Now four years, four Desolat EPs and two label samplers later, Allendes’ catalogue boasts releases on Cadenza, Snatch!, Kaluki and VIVa, whilst providing remixes for Do Not Sleep and Crosstown Rebels to name just a few.

Serán Bendecidos Mixtape No 2 by Francisco Allendes

wAFF is a giant of the modern techno scene and returns here for another outing on Loco Dice's Desolat label.
Recent years have seen wAFF emerge on the back of an attention-grabbing DJ and production style. The UK artist knows how to cook up big, rumbling grooves and weave powerful DJ sets in large clubs and on vast festival stages around the world. He's released on the likes of Cocoon, Hot Creations and Drumcode as well as this label back in 2017, and once again cooks up a storm on two titanic new tunes.
Powerful opener BONDAGE is a ten-minute trip through slick and elastic drums that will sweep up the floor. There is darkness in the weighty bass, and real punch in the kicks, and it's all finished off with some sci-fi sound effects and dramatic breakdowns. A lead synth line goes from molten and muted to frazzled and brain frying and the whole thing is a real adventure.
Then comes SPACE, a clipped, kinetic house track with tight, urgent drum programming that really draws you in. Chopped up wordless vocals are drawn out, refracted, twisted and turned over the groove, and the crisp hi hats add a layer of machine funk. This is a full fat, muscular tune that will stand out in any set.
Once again here, wAFF and Desolat make for a perfect partnership.

Loco Dice starts a new mini-chapter in the history of his Desolat label with 11 track compilation album Serán Bendecidos.
Literally translated as ‘will be blessed’, Serán Bendecidos, “brings a message of unity and freedom” and gathers artists that include Dice’s companions from the past and the present, international guests as well as new and exciting talents. Serán Bendecidos is founded on a desire to connect the Dice’s worldwide musical family, and will include events around the world, lunching with a US tour which kicks off in Detroit on the day of release.
It is the boss himself who kicks things off with the brilliant ‘2Thousand3’, a tribal house cut with bristling drums and rolling percussive energy. Spanish hit maker Cuartero then offers ‘Attention’, a deep space electronic house track with swirling, nebulous pads and slick drum work, and after a storming Desolat debut earlier this year, UK artist wAFF returns with ‘Dripping’, a big, raw and barreling cut with digital sound design and freaky vocal stabs.
Andrea Oliva turbocharges things with his giant kick drums and pinging cowbells on ‘Bases,’ and Francisco Allendes’s ‘A Game of You’ is a ducking and diving house number with well swung kicks and subtle synths. Long time label associate Yaga lands a rolling and direct jam
called ‘Evolver’. The pressing toms and the rolling low-end bassline push the track to the heat while the syncopated hi-hat adds even more tension.
Dutchman William Djoko, who featured on the last Loco Dice album, offers ‘Tell Me How You Like It,’ which in his words is “an open invitation to have a fun and freaky night with no strings attached”, all embodied in a punchy, stripped back house track. Next is Belgian artist Mandana,
a debutant who makes a big splash with a track that stems from a live jam. ‘Conflict’ is rhythmically inventive and effective dub house that insists you move.
After that is Puerto Rico’s Caleb Calloway with ‘Rollin Pin,’ which he “wanted to be played at the peak of the party”. It features his own Spanish vocal and rolling acid basslines, big dirty kicks and strident 303 drums. Cuky’s ‘Born Dancing’ brings more blasted bass and sleazy feelings all wrapped up in a perfect package. Finally, we have Guti, another producer who has long been associated with the label and here rounds things out with ‘Amanda 101’, a track that will blow up the floor with its urgent hi hats, muffled party vocals and rugged bass.
This is an essential collection of house and techno from some of the day’s finest talents

Not so long ago two great friends left the country where they lived and moved to Brooklyn, NY. There they re-builded their studio, produced new tracks far away from day-in day-out madness of the life they left behind for a while.
In this creative and intimate isolation the idea of the label came up – just like the next step to be taken in their intense relation. In July 2007 this idea became reality when Desolat was born.

Desolat is now a Düsseldorf-based label founded by Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich. Both Dice and Buttrich had a long-standing artistic career in music before they decided to take a challenge and create a platform to release music they like independently and fast.
