Born in Peru and now based in Phoenix, Gio Lucca (ISO, Black Book, Deeperfect) is on a mission to make people dance and boogie, and the titled "Control" EP on La Zic is a testament to his commitment. With support from some of the industry’s best, such as Jamie Jones and Marco Carola, to name a few, Gio Lucca's ascent to the major stages seems to be inevitable and under... control.

Retro-house fat drums and funky disco jabs are the bread and butter on the lead track, while "Keep It Quiet" - in collaboration with Argentinian talent Julio Bravo - offers glitchy atmospheres, tight grooves, and deadly, pointy bass licks. The EP gets enriched by two remixes, with Proudly People delivering a rolling, tech version designed for the early hour moments on the terrace, while Lolu Menayed sets the tone with a dreamy, afterhours tool.

Whoyostro are back with another heater and this time it’s the Darius Syrossian 'Endless' Remix. If you know Syrossian, you know what’s coming: chunky grooves, rolling basslines, and dancefloor damage.

Rush Arp and I.g.n.a. already set the tone with their stripped-back 'Endless' EP, all swinging rhythms and vocal hooks primed for basements and late-night sessions. Now Darius takes it up a notch, flipping Rush Arp’s 'Endless' into a full-blown club weapon. Think funky synths, airy pads, and a bassline so fat it’ll rattle your drink off the booth.

Darius Syrossian is no stranger to tearing up floors. From his early nineties vinyl obsession to global sets that keep ravers moving till sunrise, he’s always been about the purest spirit of house and techno. No gimmicks, no fluff, just straight-up grooves. His remix work here is proof once again that he knows exactly how to get a room locked in.

This one is built for the underground. Imagine a sweaty warehouse at 4am or a rooftop when the sun hits. That’s where Darius Syrossian’s 'Endless' Remix truly comes alive.

"Love Letters" was the third album of Loco Dice, and as every album before, it closed one special chapter in life. DJs kept playing the tracks, and some of them asked for parts. But they stayed in the treasure box.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Truncate sent an edit of one of the album tracks. That edit of "We’re Alive" was the initial inspiration to hear how "Love Letters" sounds form another perspective. Loco Dice asked friends and artists he appreciates to pick one of the tracks and remix it. 

So here are the remixes and what Dice had to say about them: 

Manfredi Romano also known as DJ Tennis, and old friend, my Italian booking agent back in the days, fine chef and great DJ with his remix of "Roots".

Ellen Allien, grande dame of electronic music and my dear friend since ages.

Talented Parisian Bambounou, who I also consider a friend outside of the music industry. 

Then there is inter-disciplinary wizard Virgil Abloh with whom I played a lot at the time when I had the remix idea. I sent him parts and when I met him at Movement Detroit 2019 during his set, Virgil said: "I got a surprise for you". That’s when I first heard his remix of "We’re Alive".

Last but not least there is Truncate, a true techno man whose music I’ve been playing a lot and whose edit basically kicked off the "Love Letters Remix Edition".

I wanted to preserve this nice music and all the stories in a special way. So there will be 12" picture disc that includes a download code. Inspired by the remixes, I also reinterpreted the "Love Letters" logo.

Not so long ago two great friends left the country where they lived and moved to Brooklyn, NY. There they re-builded their studio, produced new tracks far away from day-in day-out madness of the life they left behind for a while.
In this creative and intimate isolation the idea of the label came up – just like the next step to be taken in their intense relation. In July 2007 this idea became reality when Desolat was born.

Desolat is now a Düsseldorf-based label founded by Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich. Both Dice and Buttrich had a long-standing artistic career in music before they decided to take a challenge and create a platform to release music they like independently and fast.
