'Cuartero makes his label debut on Joey Daniel’s SiO Records, serving up a quartet of slick house cuts across his latest EP ‘Persefone’.

A key name within Spain’s house landscape for over a decade, Malaga’s Cuartero has become a DJ, producer and label owner whose global reputation is continually rising. Founder of Sanity while also steering the ship at his own Cuartero Concept project, exploring more personal ideas and inspiration across strains of house, minimal and techno, his diary is as busy as it has ever been with worldwide dates at the likes of Club Space D-Edge, Sunwaves, Kappa Futur and fabric adding to regular appearances at Pacha, Amnesia, Fabrik and INPUT. Arriving to join the likes of Sepp, Nu Zau and Guti on the label, he makes his debut outing on Joey Daniel’s burgeoning SiO Records imprint to open September as he uncovers four slick, heady and classy cuts across his ‘Persefone’ EP.

Opening the package, the slinking tones of the skippy title track ‘Persefone’ as wiggly synths dart amongst crisp percussion arrangements and subtle acid squelches, while ‘Cu Chu’ keeps the focus on the low-ends as wobbly basslines topple beneath tough metallic kicks, warped vocals and more ever-evolving electronics. Next, ‘Otaclock’ is groove-led and hooky as female vocal runs guide icy hats and bumping bass hits, before closing with the stripped-back, raw sonics of final effort ‘I Never’.

Jamie Jones’ Hottrax readies their brand-new Various Artists EP series 'Tripleution', set to feature long-time Hottrax affiliates and brand new artists alike, adding to a discography that already boasts the likes of Patrick Topping, East End Dubs, Yousef, and many more alongside Jamie Jones himself. Landing this September, the first part of ‘Tripleution’ features Qubiko & Denis Ago, TacoMan and Sound Process, giving an essential look into the label’s high-quality catalogue. 

Italian duo Qubiko & Denis Ago deliver a mixture of house and minimal styles for their cut 'Danzer', with deep layers of sub-bass penetrating its percussive hooks. 'Arriba Abajo' sees TacoMan, a previous Hottrax visitor, build this futuristic track around revving synth levels and patches of grooving beats. Lastly, Sound Process comes with 'Dizzy Nights', pushing through distorted, dreamlike vocals which merge with an unrelenting, weighty bassline, leaving the EP with a continuing impact.

French duo Chicks Luv Us return to Desolat as Loco Dice welcomes them back to the label for their two- track release, "Rhell / Trippin".

Launched back in 2007 by internationally renowned DJ/producer Loco Dice, Desolat stands today with a history and reputation as rich as any within the global house realm. With the label relaunched after a brief hiatus earlier this year as Miami’s Cortes took the wheel for its big re-introduction, the label boss now reveals the second release of 2023 on the label as French pair Chicks Luv Us make an impressive return. Heading up their own CLU Recs and Encasa Records imprints while releasing material via Hot Creations, MÜSE, elrow and more, their breakthrough single ‘Qu’est Ce Qu’il Veut Lui?!’ on Desolat in 2019 saw them rack up a wealth of support from across the scene and stands today as a gem within their growing catalogue. Now returning four years later, early September brings two fresh productions on the label as they return with a pair of heavy-hitting cuts across "Rhell / Trippin".
Setting the tone via hefty kicks and menacing low-end tones before introducing wonky electronics, skippy hats and warped hip-hop vocal samples, the title cut "Rhell" is a no-nonsense and impactful production crafted for packed dancefloors as it marches forth with authority. Switching things up but keeping the energy levels high, "Trippin" fuses rubbery basslines, harsh metallic tones and squelchy acid-tinged leads for a chaotic yet precise and driving journey deeper into the peak hours.

'Romanian DJ/producer makes his Cuttin’ Headz debut with his new four-track EP, ‘Hotwing’.
In the middle of his busiest summer to date, with Ibiza shows for Joseph Capriati’s Metamorfosi, Circoloco and Solid Grooves at DC10, as well as joining The Martinez Brothers and Paco Osuna at Hï Ibiza, Romanian talent Kidoo is laying down a marker and showing why many have been keeping tabs on him as an emerging name to know about. Building on releases via Solid Grooves Raw, Mindshake and MÜSE, he now heads to The Martinez Brothers’ renowned Cuttin’ Headz imprint for the first time, with this label debut welcoming four slick productions in the form of his ‘Hotwing’ EP.
Title track ‘Hotwing’ is a crisp roller as tight percussion grooves go to work beneath hooky vocal snippets and bumping bass licks, while rhythm focuses on organic drums, alluring Latin vocals and playful tones and textures. Next, ‘Kitty Here’ is a slinking production that combines wonky melodies and glitchy, off-kilter samples for a track loaded with twists and turns, before ‘Junks’ closes proceedings by delivering a slick, stripped-back slice of minimal-leaning house.

Not so long ago two great friends left the country where they lived and moved to Brooklyn, NY. There they re-builded their studio, produced new tracks far away from day-in day-out madness of the life they left behind for a while.
In this creative and intimate isolation the idea of the label came up – just like the next step to be taken in their intense relation. In July 2007 this idea became reality when Desolat was born.

Desolat is now a Düsseldorf-based label founded by Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich. Both Dice and Buttrich had a long-standing artistic career in music before they decided to take a challenge and create a platform to release music they like independently and fast.
