Dance TV is proud to present DJ MIX #581 with the multitalented DJ, producer and musician - Argenis Brito. Highly valued and recognised for his solo performances as well as collaborations such as Mambotour, Senor Coconut or Los Refrescos, the Berlin based Venezuelan artist takes us on a one hour trip packed with original & mostly unreleased tracks and remixes given to him by his long time friend and colleague - the legendary Ricardo Villalobos. 
Many years of true friendship based on mutual respect and admiration of each others talent and great tracks shared between the artists have led to Argenis sitting on a collection of really spectacular works of Ricardo. The idea of recording an exclusive mix consisting of the deep and moody, slightly twisted, yet extremely playful, soulful minimal compositions of the Chilean maestro came up recently and it is without doubt one for the books! On repeat here at the Dance TV office!

Caracas, early 1980s. A radio flickers on and crackles the introduction to John Paul Young's "Love is in the Air". For one boy, the moment marks the beginning of a life-long love affair with music. 

The pages on a wall calendar fly off in quick succession as the young man, a one Argenis Brito, delves into the world of performance. We see him pick up a bass guitar, adjust a microphone to capture his voice and suit up to front band after phenomenally successful band. But it's at the tail end of this formation, leading up to the turn of the century, that we witness Brito finally come into his own.

Latin, hot-blooded and with decidedly tropical tendencies, our protagonist tries his hand at the bleeps and blops upon which club culture is built—thus becoming a key figure in the cross-pollination between techno music and Latin rhythms. A new underground sound is born, with Brito at the helm. Think Mambotur, Señor Coconut, Los Refrescos (with Ruta 5's Dandy Jack) and many other rum-fueled collaborations held within the confines of slick studios. These are our main character's playgrounds.

Those playgrounds have long since extended beyond the recording sessions and into some of the world's greatest DJ booths—from Europe to Asia and all of the Americas. Our storied musician and entertainer considers himself on a never-ending quest to learn and delight in equal parts. Which means this story never ends, but is destined always "to be continued..."

These days, Argenis Brito's most impressive musical experiences don't often include radios. But you can bet that when the Venezuelan native is behind a booth working his magic, nobody can deny that love is in the air.

Ahead of his forthcoming Paris appearence with the Kumquat crew, we are extremely proud to share an exclusive mix from one of the most exciting yet enigmatic names in the scene, Amir Javasoul. The Canadian veteran has been around for a while, moving between Montreal, Paris, and Berlin, dispensing refined grooves that space between slow-burner minimal riddims to more upfront and harsh techno bursts. Today, he brings all his knowledge and wise selection to the table (or booth), putting together a 90 minutes compelling mix recorded at The BSMNT Club, Tunisia during Desimina event, showing what to expect for anyone who will attend his next performance alongside Margaret Dygas for Kumquat in Paris on the next 7th of May.

We don’t often invite people to run the FACT Mix gauntlet more than once – but if anyone gets to bend the rules, it’s Klock.

The Berlin titan last graced these parts back in 2009, filing a muscular FACT Mix entirely in keeping with his reputation as Berghain’s bosher-in-chief. The last five years have seen him consolidate his reputation as a standard bearer of refined, take-no-prisoners techno; his eight-hour-plus sets continue to shake Berghain’s foundations, and, although his output has slowed substantially, he’s still found time to knock out the occasional release on Ostgut Ton. His Klockworks label continues to tick along, too - new releases from fellow FACT mixer Trevino and Etapp Kyle are imminent, plus, if a forthcoming stint of “studio time” comes good, potentially more new music from Klock himself.

Those expecting pulverising 4×4 might be surprised by Klock’s sophomore FACT mix – a “deeper, dreamy” collection, bookended by two vintage ambient tracks and shot through with wonder. Unreleased Klockworks material features, as do cuts from the likes of Function, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Orgue Electronique and Lucy. The mix is a studio-recorded affair – something Klock sees as a very different kettle of fish to playing out: “Club mixes are obviously more spontaneous and capture the vibe of a specific night, while working in the studio offers other possibilities like re-editing tracks and layering tunes more precisely, which I’ve done a lot of that here.” Set your watches…

New year, new episode! We kick off 2018 in style with a fresh mix straight from the hands of the brilliant Berlin based Diego Krause. Diego has totally made a name for himself in the last couple of years, releasing on labels such as Apollonia’s own “Apollonia”, “Berg Audio” and “Beste Modus” to name a few, playing all over the most promising underground European circuits. He also took part at the first Tamango showcase at Club der Visionnaire (Berlin) last May. This eighth episode features several unkwon records from the early millennium and clearly demonstrates Diego’s attitude as refined music selector.

Bruno Pronsato - The Bunker

Not so long ago two great friends left the country where they lived and moved to Brooklyn, NY. There they re-builded their studio, produced new tracks far away from day-in day-out madness of the life they left behind for a while.
In this creative and intimate isolation the idea of the label came up – just like the next step to be taken in their intense relation. In July 2007 this idea became reality when Desolat was born.

Desolat is now a Düsseldorf-based label founded by Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich. Both Dice and Buttrich had a long-standing artistic career in music before they decided to take a challenge and create a platform to release music they like independently and fast.
