When a brand new @Outplay release lands in our digital mailbox we drop everything and get it straight on the LV office sound system. When it's by one of the label co-bosses @junktionmusic we know that we are in for a treat. We've been fans of his since way back before the current iteration of Le VIsiteur Online existed. Safe to say that he lived up to the office hype as we dropped the needle on this package.

Moving away from his traditional cool as you like house and deep house vibes he has delivered up a scorcher of a disco edged house EP in the shape of Tributes. Our premier today is the funky as hell 'I Got Somebody'. It's a groover for sure, with acid licks, subtle keys and some very classy vocal samples providing plenty of dancefloor verve. Smooth and delightful. The main 'Circle Line' is a smooth, groovy and relaxed house beat. 'My Feeling Can't Explain' gives instantly a positive vibe, very cheerful, house with piano chord stabs.

The third track of DJ MERCI journey is 'Ocean Drive' a slightly deeper cut but surrounded by a strong house groove. Besides the strong bass lines and solid grooves, all tracks on this EP are club-ready and made for satisfy the professional house DJ's needs."

With previous releases on Discoweey, Samosa Records and Tropical Disco Records, our italian Stallion 'Paul Older' strikes back on the Mandrill EP series with his 'Mondodisco EP' delivering 4 disco jewels influenced by music from all around the world. To start this journey 'Monkey Funkey' arrives with heavy trumpet riffs, retro organ chords and cheerful vocals making it a happy melody ready to hit the dancefloor. After it comes 'Los Caramelos' taking us back to the 70s decade in Spain with colorful flamenco-driven guitars, spanish vocals filled with joy and a classic disco bassline making it a unique blend perfect for peak hours. On the other side 'Mais' delivers a Brazilian boogie taste to the release with exceptional Portuguese vocals, smooth rhodes and classic samba on the rhytm section. To close this magical journey 'Akisakisana' takes us all the way to the African jungle with outstanding percussions, funky guitar riffs and womanly chants making it a very exotic rework you cannot miss.
