Danny B bursts back onto Sublease Music with a three tracker of bright, swinging house music for the summer ahead. 

Don’t Look Back is a deep bomb, with classic pads / chords interacting with a rolling bassline and sharp percussion and 808 fills. 

Sunshine keeps the vibe, an atmospheric burner that uses a minimalist structure to provide space for the groove to develop and flourish. 

Rust is in the same vein, showcasing the Madrid natives mastery of sound design and arrangement.

A label that DJs turned to time and time again for the fantastic and consistently high quality vibe it created on the dancefloor, Steve Bug‘s infamous Dessous imprint continued with its classics series.
After three heavily supported vinyl releases celebrating some of the most classic cuts from the Dessous back catalogue, remixed by some of the era‘s most sought-after artists, this special digital-only compilation was compiled so that all 12 remixes (including two hot new interpretations) were available in all their crisp and clean glory.

A real who‘s who at the forefront of the modern house world at the time, Steve Bug, Kevin Yost, Vincenzo, Phonique, Gruber & Nurnberg, Manuel Tur, Langenberg, Two Armadillos, Ripperton, Ryo Murakami, and new Dessous signing Claire Ripley all provided interpretations here, remixing tracks picked from across the spectrum in a look back at over 10 years of label history.

This heavyweight remixes package was headed off by Steve Bug‘s new version of The Discowboys‘ “At Midnight,” a smooth modern house gem in the making. Other standout pieces of stereo love included the two extra special Kevin Yost versions of Phonique‘s “Teenage Love”; the dub having featured on the vinyl release, showing off his classy world-renowned production skills.

There were so many important tracks to mention, with yet more priceless cuts coming courtesy of Manuel Tur, with his beautiful mini-epic treatment of D’Julz’s “Sulo,” and Ripperton on top form with a unique and equally magical remix of Phonique’s “For The Time Being,” featuring the vocal talents of Erlend Øye.

Just as was the case in the original tracks, which stood the test of time, there was depth, drama and dimension to be found amongst these superb versions. Here’s to Dessous, the classics, and the future classics!

The album amasses an all star cast from across the board including the talents of Steve Bug, Martin Landsky, Clé, Redshape, Ribn, The Revenge, Deetron, Sasse, KiNK & Neville Watson and more. ‚Forward To The Past‘ takes in many of todays rising talents alongside faithful veterans of the scene. It‘s really a joy to hear how these top class producers, both vintage and modern, each add their own spin and re-interpret the sounds of the past. Complete with audiophile-approved analog tape mastering, and the highest production values around, its a wonderful tribute to the past, present and future of electronic music!

Opening the selection Steve Bug puts on his jackin‘ shoes in ‚Jack Is Back‘ - a classic Chicago jack-a-thon in the purest form. Martin Landsky continues the US-inspired journey with ‚V2U‘, the man is always on form! Bleep-infused moments come courtesy of the modern masters KiNK & Neville Watson, with ‚Nighttime Raw‘, while Sasse pumps out a seriously heavy windy city-styled attack in ‚Hot For You‘.

Much-loved newcomer The Revenge contributes ‚Elements of Fife‘, a slow grooving New York / Chicago crossover styled beauty. Then, in all out lush-chorded goodness, Ribn gives us their powerful ‚Pancake‘! Newblood Polus hit dead centre with a modern yet hauntingly reminiscent nighttime jam; ‚Patterns In The Dark‘, followed by Deetron‘s deep-bomb ‚The Maze‘ - an amazing journey through the smoke-filled labyrinth.

Berlin mainstay Clé takes us right back with his super funky ‚Feel It (Don‘t Cha Know)‘, warm and classy. Deepsters TJ Kong & Modular K give us their ‚Jack Shit‘ in a slow burning Chi-town acid groover. Cab Drivers return with a real classic-themed killer, ‚Shoulder Pad‘, that harks back to their 90‘s days, and finally the mighty Redshape gives us his darkly acidic ‚Funny Green Hat (Altered Mix), which seriously needs to be heard to be believed!!

The digital release also features three extra tracks, including the original version of Redshape‘s ‚Funny Green Hat‘, along with an alternate version of The Revenge‘s ‚Elements Of Fife (Tone Mix) and another exclusive from Clé - the excellent ‚Muzik Is‘.

Hailing from Cologne, Hans Schaaf first release as Honesty was in 1995 via Space Teddy Recordings.

Since then Schaaf moved to Berlin, performing as part of an improv-jazz band named Gelee Royale, as well as focusing on producing club music under various monikers. Schaff’s best-known pseudonyms, such as Honesty, Honeydrop and a duo named Slope alongside Cabinet founder Daniel Paul, have collectively released on the likes of Room With A View, Cabinet and Sonar Kollektiv.

Burnski is by no means the fresh faced new comer he looks. Despite still being relatively young, he has actually been toiling away, building up an enviable discography and laying down fierce DJ sets for a whole decade and a half. Right from the off he began making a big impact with early releases and has continued to quietly but competently build up momentum ever since. The upshot of this is that he is now at the point where he is a mainstay on the underground scene around Europe and beyond.

As a DJ, Burnski aims to mix the old with the new, is still a passionate vinyl hoarder and spends plenty of time digging deep for sounds and styles a mile away from the ordinary: if he didn’t, he wouldn’t be able to boast regular gigs at places like DC10 in Ibiza, Fabric in London, Rex Club in Paris and Watergate in Berlin, all of which find him weaving together tracks that make you want to dance as well as making you feel something deep down inside.

In the wake of early, standout career hits, Burnski is now crafting darker, more stripped back and rawer output. Today, we premiere Burnski's hypnotic interpretation of DJ Honesty's 'Schillerkiez', featuring a low-slung groove and added vocal to the already infectious synth hook.
