Steve Bug is one of electronic music’s true originals. His relentless commitment to quality has made him one of the world’s most revered artists and curators, and along with his label Poker Flat has made a sizeable contribution to the house and techno scene as we know it.
Although dedicated to his own labels Steve’s talents have na- turally attracted the attention of other imprints. Bedrock, Knee Deep In Sound, Minus, Cocoon and Defected are just some of the labels that have championed original tracks and remixes.
Following on from 'Time Flies 1 here is the second decade in Steve Bug's ongoing and impressive career, highlighting his best productions from the years 2009 - 2019.
From instantly recognisable classics like Chordwalk Empire, The Arpeggio or Coconut Paradise to more stripped down raw and tracky vibes his full range of talents is present.
Not to be missed are Bug's collaborations with Cle, Langen- berg, Mr V or Jake the Rapper. The fact that it’s easy to imagi- ne another compilation with as many tracks again is testament not just to his prolificness, but also the quality control applied to every release. Here’s to the next 10 years.

A year after ‘Together / That’s Right’, long-time friends and sonic sparring partners Steve Bug and Cle return to Rejected with two more statements of timeless intent that tap into the classic foundations of true techno story telling.

Long builds, emotional chords, layers and narrative twists are the devils in the detail as the pair present another couple of ageless hypnotic trips: The craftily titled ‘Tweaky Blinders’ takes the lead with its sombre one stroke chords whispering over the robust kicks and salubrious subs while the wily acid flurries between the spaces. Stately, immersive and coded with sentiment; drop it and watch the crowd march in unison.

The equally wryly titled ‘Bark Side Of The Moog’ follows suit. Once again there’s a solemn air to the chords as they sway with pensive poignancy. This time the drum arrangement is much more full frontal and unavoidable. Rolling with a sense of momentum that’s almost mid 90s prog in its energy, shine and behaviour, yet again Steve and Cle have nailed the timeless feel. Hopefully this will become an annual thing and they’ll return to Rejected for another round this time next year….

Originally dropping on vinyl only in 2015, Apes Go Bananas is both the name of the label, and that of the production team behind the mighty Kerri On. 

The duo happen to be Steve Bug and Clé, and the boys have decided to re-release the track on Dessous with a pair of killer remixes. 

The original still sounds fresh and raw, a continued homage to one of the greatest, with Chandler-esque crisp drums and deep, jazzy chords. 

First up on remix duties is James Dexter, the young Brit with the golden touch, who adds his distinctive take on the track. The drums knock hard and the groove is tightly wound, with the vocal snippets and spacey synth opening the vibe up. 

Langenberg, the Berlin producer and long time Steve Bug collaborator, also goes deep with his refix. The jazzy chords are brought to the fore, and the shaker-heavy groove snakes around the melody to create a sure-fire deep burner.

It’s no secret that traveling has always fascinated and influenced Luca Bacchetti and his music making. ENDLESS, is the latest adventure and brainchild of the Italian DJ producer, already held in high regard for his seminal work for labels such as Ovum, Crosstown Rebels, Wagon Repair, Culprit.
ENDLESS draws its inspiration from the experience of travel, something which is an integral part of what has become more of a lifestyle than a job in the traditional sense of the term. As Luca himself explains the concept of ENDLESS:

"I am a frequent traveller, mainly for business but also for pleasure. For anyone in my line of work travel is an unending source of inspiration. During all these years I’ve kept a special vision or dream to make come true at some point in the future. Something that could unite my passions for music and travel. In both cases there is always something new to discover: there are endless places to visit and endless music to listen to. Even though my work has taken me to many countries and places, I always have the feeling of not having seen anything yet, as if the infinite possibilities out there remain somehow out of reach. This also happens when I listen to music. On the one hand there is the feeling that a life is not enough for the real trip and on the other the wish to just stop everything and freeze the moment for ever with a picture. That moment is unique, and this is what gives rise to ENDLESS."

Fresh from the release of the exotic, hypnotic and ultimately mysterious "El Maravilloso Mundo De Xilitia", Luca prepares to take us on another trip as he soundtracks more of his travelling experiences with, 'Atlantic'. The dream-like feel of 001 is replaced with by a driving funk as we take off on Bacchetti's new musical flight. As we swoop high above the crystal blue waters, 'Atlantic' catches jet streams of synth, bathing us in warmth as it breaks through sunburnt clouds. Floating through its Oboe-break the engines kick in once again and power us to our destination. At just under fourteen minutes the sun-drenched Atlantic is quite a journey, and yet as the last beat sounds we're already lining up to climb back aboard.

Music is 4 Lovers continue their Global Lovers compilation series with GLV5; featuring 8 brand new tracks from a cast of all-Russian artists.

Up first on the comp is a groovy, space-filled microhouse track out of Moscow from Vanilla Ninja resident, Adamov; followed by a big tech house bomber from Toolroom artist, Alex Twitchy.

We seasoned a little poppy flavor over the compilation with an infectious tune from BLENT; which is a collaboration project between Cedric Gasaida, former lead singer of Azari & III; and Russian producer Victor Karzalov. The VA then takes a minimal turn with a deep groover from Moscow-based duo Bypass.

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Jax D lights up the compilation with a stick of dance floor dynamite; proceeded by Mik Kartl’s jungle-inspired track.

Highway Records bossman and a veteran of Moscow’s underground, Mike Spirit delivers a massive tech house tune ready to smash dance floors all over the world. The compilation ends with another Moscow-based veteran, Yasha F, who slows it down with a raw grinding tune that features cuts from the infamous movie of the late 80’s, Robocop.

Global Lovers V5: Russia is set to hit the digital shelves on Friday, June 5, 2020.

Two artists with an innate ability in the studio, San Francisco-based DJ, producer and label owner Andrew Rasse, aka Butane, and Italian talent Riko Forinson have remained ever-present fixtures within the worlds of house and techno over the past few years. Increasingly, a regular feature of the duos output now lies in their excellent collaborations together. Following a string of releases together via a host of top-tier international imprints, the pair now makes a welcome return to Rasse’s burgeoning Extrasketch imprint in mid-June. Maybe their most polished work to date, here the pair unleashes two new fresh cuts showcasing a new side to their ever-developing sound.

With pristine drum programming and synth work to go with enchanting female vocals, both cuts deliver a slow-burning deep house sound for the summer. Opening cut ‘Sorry’ pairs a steady, classic, driving groove with floating atmospherics, while ‘Everything’ puts out a more soulful, sleazy, modern vibe.
