Dino Lenny has been at the vanguard of the electronic dance music scene for over 30 years. The Italian house producer has been firing out floor fillers since house music’s early days, with pivotal releases clocked up on labels such as Flying Records, Ellum Audio, Positiva, Yoshitoshi Recordings, Crosstown Rebels and his own Frenetica label.

On the single ‘Did This’, Lenny flexes his many talents on an irresistible house track for R&S Records.  Over an infectious groove, the Italian maestro deploys deft piano licks, cheeky rave stabs and a captivating vocal top-line for an inspirative dancefloor track delivered with all the sophistication that one would expect from a producer with three decades of musicality under his belt.

Shrouded in mystery, The Unhottest follow up a stream of releases in 2014 with an impres- sive debut on Dessous Recordings: three tracks that live up to their name and everything they're about. For it's clear the duo have no truck with fashion - or being restricted to a clearly defined genre. Drawing freely on a range of influences, they construct deep - and deeply focused house - as well as it can be done, with no frills or mes- sing.

A tough kick and surging synth line - think Pepé Bradock - underpin the heady title track, around which a host of fine details slowly coalesce. An organ chord scythes in; a bass line grows organically: layer upon layer to make a delicious concoction.

"Glam You Not" meanwhile, is an exercise in pure, unadulterated, deep repetition, lightened only by abstract metallic pings.
The slow-mo heavy groove of "We All We Be" - burnished by a glimmering synth repetition that evokes Basic Channel - rounds things off with a truly ethereal vibe. Its tight bass line will appeal to DJs, while its cascading, feather-light synths cast a golden - and instantly memorable - glow.

UK deep delvers Soul Quest are raring to set 2025 right, after an inaugural 2024 spent establishing their footing in V/A selections comps of a higher-grade but still playful character. A wicked year so far has heard them incant two especial EPs from Jean-Jez and Max Sinal, and that's not to mention another heater V/A of their own: the three-a-sider 'Maintain Attitude'. Now five further remixes of Sinal's earlier 'Intentions' setpiece surface, ringing out the room by way of careful and frequent attention, paid to the track by Frits Wentink, JT Donaldson and Flying Moth. The Live Mix from Sinal at the end is also second to none, its rapid-echo plucks a treat.
