===== NOTES =====
Kris reaches the end of the hallway and pushes through the tall door to the other side. On the other side they're faced with a quiet little town. This quiet little town is home to the handful of monsters that still live there.

While exploring this little town, they learn a lot about the Underground's previous royal scientist and doctor, who tragically passed away a few years ago. About the various breakthroughs he was responsible for, such as the artificial sun. 

Kris also learns a lot about a young human whom the doctor had met, about their friendship with the young prince and how they put everything on the line to try and save the prince after his tragic, untimely passing, to bring him back to life in whatever shape or form was possible. 

Kris learns that, despite all odds, there may have been a breakthrough in that department as well, before the newly revived prince mysteriously vanished. This was kept under wraps from the general public, but some monsters claim to have seen him near the time of his disappearance.

Some time later, the doctor fell ill to one of his own creations, and he soon was nowhere to be found as well.

Kris learns about how all this affected the king and queen, how this affected their policy on how humans should be treated and how this affected the general morale of the underground. In the span of a few months, the prince, the human and the doctor had all vanished without a trace, so people believed.

And yet...

Many of the monsters still living in this town are absolutely adamant the doctor is still around. That the doctor will bring them to salvation, lead them out of the underground to finally see the surface at last.

The human and prince remained a mystery. The doctor...

TWAS THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING.
THE ANGEL HAD FORMED THE EARTH...
WITH TWO RACES ALONG WITH IT!

HUMANS.
AND US, MONSTERS!

EACH WERE FASCINATING BEINGS.
THE ANGEL HAD CREATED THEM TO CO-EXIST.
YET...THAT'S NOT THE LIFEFORMS HAD IN MIND, YOU SEE.
IF OUT OF FEAR, JEALOUSY - WE'LL NEVER KNOW!
BUT AS PUZZLING AS THAT MAY SEEM, IT WAS THE START OF A WAR.

A WAR TO PROVE WHO WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO SURVIVE.
A WAR THAT TOOK THE LIVES OF MILLIONS.
MONSTERS LOST, AND WERE ROUNDED ALL TOGETHER.
TO BE TRAPPED INSIDE A MOUNTAIN POWERED BY HUMAN MAGIC.
NOW, MONSTERS NEED SEVEN SOULS TO OPEN THE BARRIER.
SEVEN! I KNOW! IT'S CRAZY.
SEVEN LIVES NEED TO BE STOLEN.
SIX HAVE BEEN KILLED THUS FAR.
...
BUT HEY, ATLEAST IT'S JUST ONE MORE - AND WE'RE HOME FREE.

HOWEVER...AFTER A GREAT FLASH OF LIGHT THAT BLINDED THE UNDERGROUND DECADES AGO.
NO HUMANS HAVE FALLEN DOWN SINCE.
LIKE...THEY'VE DISAPPEARED WITHOUT A TRACE.

AND EVER SINCE THEN, MY GRANDPA SEMI DISAPPEARED TOO...
