Born Romania, his world revolved around music since childhood, collecting vinyl records as well as old instruments, and starting to take piano lessons at age 7. Being 16 years old he was already roaming around the decks of Celentano beach, one of the founding places of electronic music in Romania.

His first release was on Everyday Paradise in mid 2016, followed by music made with Grego, released on Hearth Records, and music released on his own imprint, The Sound Collective.
He co-hosted, on the famous Bassoradio a bi-weekly radio show, named This Moment On, influenced by his native Romanian sound, playing groovy and uplifting sets, the bond between new and old, minimal, techno or deep house.

After a stand out compilation release in 2020, in support of Black History Month Norway, Oslo based collective & label, Det Gode Selskab hit launch with another extensive release this autumn. Accompanying the release will be an exciting NFT campaign in collaboration with Berlin based artist and illustrator German Bardo, which will be announced in due course.   The essential sampler will consist of 24 tracks split across several releases throughout the next period. You can expect a host of Norwegian talent, and artists that have inspired and influenced the DGS journey thus far. 
To initiate proceedings there will be a double single teaser release of sophisticated jazz gloop by Third Attempt, giving you a warm and inviting welcome to the string of releases. From an extremely young age Third Attempt made an instant impression on the Norwegian scene, and beyond, his smooth and tight productions maneuver between ambient, jazz, trip hop and house, and both are these tracks are a prime example of his genre bending studio work. "Hacking Jazz" boasts crisp drum work, futuristic yet nodding towards the nostalgic sounds and influences of the past. "Designer Breaks" rides an irresistible and funky groove that grips you and takes you down a path of luscious percussion textures and elements. 
 
This release inaugurates what is set to be an exciting project for the Det Gode Selskab collective as they explore further creative avenues, expanding their ideas and opportunities in the coming years, showcasing underground sounds yet simultaneously embracing movements of modern day society. The double header from Third Attempt will see the light of day on the 17th of September.

Welcome to the last podcast of 2021, and after 6 long years we welcome back Merle, a staple of the Murge family since the beginning!

Darren 'Merle' Thompson has been involved in the music scene since 1990 in which time he served his apprenticeship at the infamous InTerDance production studios, 'Dance Floor Studios' in the early 90's working alongside the likes of Aubrey, Lenny Dee, John Digweed & Mr C as a young studio hand. Other experiences come from working in various record shops along the south coast such as Peach Flavour Records , Reflex Records, VIP Vinyl.

His influences come from an eclectic variety of electronic music from backroom grooves through to peak time madness including: Techno, Tech House, Deep House, Tribal, Breaks. With quality releases already to date on various labels such as Nathan Coles & Terry Francis Wiggle off shoot label ‘Is This’ under the guise of Cactus Jack (along side with good friend, DJ & production sparring partner, Richie Collins), San Francisco's Household Digital, London's Right Nut Recordings, Stark Futures and Sounds of Juan.

Merle’s production style is a blend of new technology and old techniques by harnessing the power of software like Reason, Logic and Pro Tools and combining it with more traditional analogue approaches. Taking each new production with an exploratory approach to sound design to which he then moulds into his unique style. “I usually start with an idea in my mind of want I hope to achieve, lay down the beats and then let the rest of the production evolve naturally.

"I absolutely love the freedom and flexibility that working with software gives me”.

Merle has hosted on popular radio stations in his time (Some legal and not so legal !) before taking the opportunity to play regular guest slots on Richie Collins ‘Pointblank FM’ Show (London). It inspired him to start hosting his own weekly show again on Jacks House which ran for over 2 years.

Charles Peace, better known as Señor B (SRB) or Mister B, is a Spanish DJ, producer and composer who uses various styles of electronic music, especially ambient, minimal techno, deep house, tech house, organic house, down tempo.
