Oslo based party starters Det Gode Selskab continue their series of the senses in 2023 with “The Ear” EP. Behind the release is label regular and affiliate Karl Fraunhofer with two innovative originals, and the record will also include two remixes, a joint outing from Jay Tripwire & Radu, and a Castaldi remix on the flip side. Hypnotic minimal textures and stripped back structures for the hazy hours of the night.

The title track sees Fraunhofer in fine form, meticulously arranged drum patterns converse in harmony with the elastic bass, and eccentric twists and turns. The transcending vocal sample makes this a well rounded trip. Thought provoking sounds from Karl Fraunhofer, stretching the mind of the dance floor to another place. B2 Karl Fraunhofer - Motion (Castaldi Remix)

Continuing the pursuit of the “Jack’s Favorites” series, Oslo based Det Gode Selskab tee up another fantastic chapter of the story with part three. The star studded release sees another amalgamation of inspiring producers and DGS favorites unite, including co-founder Tod Louie, Dandy Jack, Insectoscope, Rub800, Clock Poets and The Mountain Range, otherwise known as prolific Swedish producer Christoffer Berg, a producer and engineer under many guises over the years. 

Firing things up with a slab of ambient bliss is Tod Louie, “Salacious D” is a beautifully constructed atmosphere to tease you into the release. The quirky and stripped back sounds of Dandy Jack soon follow in “Divine In Chile”, classy vocals flashing throughout the hypnotic motions. Feisty 2 step action in Insectoscope’s “Huldu”, packed with grit and a hard edge. Rub800 delivers an underground outing in the form of “Horror Heaven”, a winding sub heavy bass manoeuvring around the glitchy drum patterns. Spooked out textures for your collection. Minimal connoisseurs Clock Poets have conjured up a loopy quest in “Talking With Ray”, laced with eccentric beeps and bleeps, with each and every detail intricately placed. The Mountain People also supply another transcending journey in “Parachute From The Dream”, slick IDM for trained ears, constantly evolving as you find yourself swaying in the realms of the after party. 

The penultimate sector of the Jack’s Favorites series comes in strong with another tasteful array of sounds for your bag!

This exclusive drop continues the label's 10th-anniversary festivities, encapsulating the sound that has shaped Oslo’s underground house music scene. DGS10Y2 brings together a standout selection of tracks, each crafted to capture Det Gode Selskab's unique blend of dance floor energy and rich musical storytelling.

Label founder, Tod Louie opens Side A with Trixie, a playful, modular-heavy progression that shifts between intense stabs and melodic synths, embodying a “devil on the shoulder” vibe. Mike Shannon’s Data Missive follows, blending crunchy modular tones with evolving percussion. Side B features Since Day One by Ohm Hourani, adding hopeful synths and trippy vocals, while Karl Fraunhofer’s Protect The Party (premiered here) closes with a low-slung groove and distinctive vocal effects, telling a well-known late-night tale.

Ronya is to be heard as a resident DJ for «Det Gode Selskab Records» and played an amazing b2b with Suchi last year during IsBurning x Det Gode Selskab Records in Oslo. 
 
She delivers an amazing IsBurnig mix with hidden gems and a undeniable groove which leaves us a longing for a weekend full of party! 

Trackhighlight: For me I think it’s Floor Dub remix from Reflex Blue in this mix. The energy levels and groove and overall vibe of the track just hits me. The track features meticulous sound design, with layers of synths, groovy basslines and effects that create a rich auditory landscape. This complexity invites repeated listening to appreciate the depth. One of my favorites these days!

First up: A three-hour sonic journey from Tod Louie & A:G, two of our beloved DGS residents. Recorded during our unforgettable week at Why?Not in Zanzibar this past January, this set is a  blend of their distinct styles – House, deep house and italian house intertwining with trance, electro, acid-infused techno, and tech-house. It’s a testament to their ability to tell a story through sound, effortlessly linking their DJ bags into one cohesive flow.

This session was recorded live at Det Gode Selksab 10 year anniversary party at Jaeger in Oslo. It’s a two hour journey celebrating the “10 years anniversary part 2” vinyl containing tracks from Mike Shannon, Ohm Hourani, Tod Louie and Karl Fraunhofer.
This year he is coming to Sunnyside festival and taking over the Det Gode Selksab stage for a journey in the gorgeous island of Malta.

As co-founder of renowned record label and promotion Det Gode Selskab, he helped reshape the city’s club culture, building a collective, a label, and a festival that continue to fuel Oslo’s underground spirit.
