Nic Smith first entered the world of Electronic music around the age of 11 when he found a music program hiding on a 3 1/4 inch floppy disk for his Amiga 500.
It was though to remain a toy to pass the time away until 1998 when after frying his brain with a computer programming course he found solitude in a future music magazine.
Comforted (and slightly turned on) by beautiful glossy pinups of Roland groove boxes and drum machines his life was to take a new course. Filled with knowledge that
comes only from a life time of computer nerdom, he endeavored to find a way to command his trusty silicon minions to etch sound waves into the sounds which were stuck
in his head. Inspired by the Big Beat sound, old school hip hop and new wave electro, his music often never sounds like any of these. Loving raspy distorted synths and
glitchy-"is it meant to sound like this" beats he ends up with an eclectic soundscape.
8 years after frying his brain, digital music has enabled new neurons to grow and he now has up to 96% of his brain fully functional under the psuedonym -

SoNic Smith.

He has supported NZ breakbeat heavyweights 'Minuit', new wave legend 'Disasteradio', 'Phelps and Munro', 'So So Modern', 'Module' and many more.

762 is the electronic music production alias of Michael West, from Christchurch New Zealand. Michael, or 'Westy', is also a part of dark dubstep and dnb outfit 'Sick Cycle', with a long list of releases alongside industry heavyweights like Excision and Current Value. But, 762 is a side project for mellower liquid dnb, breakbeat, glitch-hop, hip-hop, or anything else for that matter. 

Over the years Westy has collaborated with many artists, but felt that the musical style of Sick Cycle was a little too limited to the destructive noise of the duo. This project will utilise the connections over the years to produce a truly unique soundscape, capturing the other elements of production seen all too rarely. Look out for tracks with Harmonixx (NZ, from Sick Cycle's first album 'Meditation'), MC Aeries (NZ, RDU's Dollar Mix Show, & featured on J Dubs album), MC Mana (NZ, Salmonella Dub, Rhombus), and Clever Monkey (UK, Mutated Sounds), and many more in the near future.

The name 762 comes from the size of an AK-47 assault rifle bullet - 7.62mm x 39mm. This rifle and its projectile represent great pain and suffering in the world, as it has killed the most people ever in history. But also it is an instrument of change and upheaval, helping in the liberation of many countries from murderous dictators the world over. For Westy, both sides of the musical spectrum need to be represented, so 762 does just that: Genocide, Revolution, You decide.

It all began in 2003. 2007 turned out to be especially successful - that's when Enei released his first record on the Dutch label Fokuz. That's when he also strated producing dubstep, which resulted in the second dubstep vinyl release in Russia, including one solo track and two co-produced tracks with Ka (aka Implex). More releases are coming on the biggest European labels, and more collaborations with producers from all over the world are taking place. In his sets Enei mixes old-school neuro funk and tech step with fresh and trendy futuristic minimal dnb from Metalheadz, Critical and other labels. His tracks are played by Nu Tone, Goldie, Andy C, Ed Rush, Sabre, DJ Hype, London Elektricity, Friction, Netsky, Kasra, Bailey and many others.
