Born In Mexico se enorgullece de presentar la nueva edición de "Tandem". En esta ocasión, los artistas invitados son Juan Soto y Pato Watson. El EP incluye dos brillantes cortes originales acompañados de remixes a cargo de Rigopolar y Dan Solo.
 
El EP comienza con "The Map" de Juan Soto, un fascinante viaje intergaláctico donde el bajo y la batería se entrelazan con energía constante, mientras los pads envuelven al oyente con suavidad. Rigopolar aporta su visión en el remix de "The Map", ofreciendo una versión profunda y lisérgica. El bajo derretido, las voces reverberadas y los sintetizadores envolventes transportan al oyente a un trance sonoro.
 
Continuando con "Head To Head" de Pato Watson y Le Chev, el EP alcanza nuevas alturas de intensidad. El ritmo cíclico hipnotiza mientras el bajo y la batería impulsan hacia adelante, sumergiendo al oyente en un remolino sónico de sintetizadores. Para cerrar con broche de oro, Dan Solo transforma "Head To Head" en un viaje psicodélico y poderoso, manteniendo una base rítmica intensa y cautivadora de principio a fin.

Initially described as “superlative 25th century electronic exotica” by Cowboy Rhythmbox themselves, the fourth EP from Phantasy’s in-house trouble and hitmakers received continued support from top jocks including Dixon, Jackmaster and Marcel Dettmann. Now, it’s dynamic lead track is rejigged, expanded upon and shot through with analogue energy by two equally inventive producer pairings.

Fellow outsiders on the inside of the house of house, Israel’s finest Red Axes take the first turn, coaxing the cosmos out of the original and allowing the bewildering vocal samples to lead the way through waves of more than pleasurable cosmic tension. Soon, with the timing just right, feet to pedals and strobe to hand, the pair unleash a series of distorted guitar licks that blow dust off the stacks, even throwing in a sharp blast of their trademark surrealist vocals for extra freaky FX.

On the flip, Marvin & Guy zone out and hone in on the original’s EBM-indebted elements to contribute a trippy, wave-riding electro rework that oscillates irresistibly. Teasing listeners with a playful, almost naive synth line, the mood shimmers instead with uncompromising acid, as the pair ultimately push the modulars into strange and hypnotic territories to get lost in.

Duro’s four-year anniversary celebrations continue into 2020 with the second part of their ‘Muy Duro’ VA release.

Celebrating every explorative sound, feeling and experience the Mexican label has become synonymous with over its short but impactful life so far; across these five tracks the label takes us down a maze of musical rabbit holes. Each one coming from a new friend of the label hailing from Berlin to Buenos Aires, each one designed to suck you right into the groove, each one capturing the essence of what Duro stands for…

Opening duties are taken care of by Fausto. Here the Mexican artist sets the scene with a cosmic voyage. Deep chugs and rippling guitars, "Rumble" starts us off as we mean to go on. It’s followed by Darlyn Vlys’ equally mesmerising "Wuzu". Big reverbed drums and vivid calls of the wild, it's swampy, intense trip into the rain forests… With no clear way home.

Elsewhere Jepe’s "Rosmarin" takes a darker, heads-down approach with its rumbling acid and switched-up kicks while MORDISCO takes the tempo right down and deftly weaves his Latin roots into a hunched-back, ever-mutating creeper "Sacromonte". Last but never ever least, Argentinian duo Carisma live up to their name once again with the heavyweight "Otro Planeta". Heavy, moody, spiky and laced with iron kicks and a superb elastic bassline, it’s the perfect conclusion to another powerful collection from Duro.

Here’s to a new year and a new decade… Duro are only just warming up.
