The Pilot Light is een energetische indie-pop band afkomstig van België. The Pilot Light staat garant voor een ultiem fris geluid doorspekt met catchy hooks die je hoofd de komende dagen niet zullen loslaten. Denk aan bands als Gossip, Bloc Party en onze eigenste Das Pop. De songs zijn aangevuld met een rauwere ondertoon, wat maakt dat de band als perfecte soundtrack kan dienen voor alle Belgische seizoenen. 

Slechts twee maanden na hun razendsnelle start werd The Pilot Light geselecteerd voor de invloedrijke Humo’s rock rally 2010. Nadien geraakte alles in een stroomversnelling. In causale volgorde leest u: Band van de maand op cuttingedge.be, Finaleplaats Hagelandse rocktrofee, Winnaar Hagelandse rockrally, winnaar maanrockrally. Door deze laatste mag de band zich overigens gedurende 1 jaar ‘Artist in Residence’ noemen bij de welbefaamde Motormusic Studios. Ook op het internet bleef de respons niet achter gezien op de band’s facebookpagina de kaap van 1000+ fans snel overstegen werd, en hun debuut ‘Hasty Lady’ onafgebroken hoge toppen scheerde in de vi.be listening charts. 

De rauwe ondertoon van The Pilot Light verraadt al snel de bandgeschiedenis van leadzanger Joris Vanthienen; naast een huidig singer/songwriter project, was hij een hele tijd actief als gitarist in diverse punk&hardcore bands waarmee hij talloze jeugdhuizen, festivals en concertzalen van België en daarbuiten doorkruist heeft. In Juli 2009 kwam hij in contact met drummer Simon Vanhentenrijk, die reeds zijn strepen verdiende als percussionist bij het jeugdorkest onder leiding van Willy Claes en als drummer in een heel aantal jazz&rock bands. Simon: “Het klikte meteen uitstekend, zowel op vriendschappelijk als op muzikaal vlak, het voelt alsof dit de reden is waarvoor we allemaal meer dan tien jaar geleden drie maal per week naar de muziekschool trokken.” Al snel werd de nood naar een dragend basgeluid duidelijk, waarop Sam Geyskens in oktober 2009 de band versterkte. In april 2010 werd de band vervolledigd door gitarist Bert Aerts. 

Anno 2010 staat The Pilot Light klaar met een hele reeks nieuw materiaal, frisse ideeën en geplande concerten om zich aan de wereld te laten horen. Vergeet zeker niet dat al bovenstaande nog steeds maar de opmaat voorstelt van één lange song, een song met het verhaal van The Pilot Light, maar vooral een song die nog lang niet aan zijn refrein toe is...

Tote Deejay has sense of rhythm since he was born. When he was a child he
used to play anything, from pots to bells, until, in 1987, he received as
a gift his first real drum. Together with some friends, he created the
band "Incantatori di Serpenti". Later he realized that his real “mission”
was making people dance at parties: it was 1990.
His musical background comes from rock band: U2, Rolling Stones, Jimi
Hendrix, Dire Straits, Marshal Tuker Band, Simple Minds, The Beatles and
many others. He didn’t like dance music at all!
But between late '80s and early '90s, Tote changed his mind and began
buying the first Music Dance Mix vinyl: these are the years of his first
mix, made with old record players and just 20 watt speakers. The more he
mixed the more he liked it, so that, after a few months, he decided to buy
the right professional equipment.
In the same years Tote made his debut in some clubs, thanks also to his
first production: "Pom Pom". In 1993 he joined the entourage of Radio 105
and the famous Radio DJ Producer Stefano Secchi. It was the beginning of
an escalation bringing him to become Resident DJ in all the best clubs in
Como, and Guest DJ in some of the most important locations such as Milan,
until his debut - after 2000 – in Germany and Spain.
His job as DJ and Producer has always lived together with his passion for
information technology and hi-tech. This approach, between music and
computers, allowed him to be very innovative about new techniques of music
development.
We can absolutely say that Tote’s life is completely based on his love for
music. Since 1991, working in the most famous record store in Como, he
sold thousand of mix, until 2004, when, with the Dj producer Morris Corti,
he realized the ambitious project they have thought for a long time: TM
Records, where they sell music and make production, giving life to a long
series of successes.

bio... Alves, Naldinho, Chico e Sabiá got together to play and take his message, idealism and philosophy, searching for the perfect balance between seriousness and playfulness with strong lyrics that preach love, freedom, equality, peace, joy and life, forming the ALMA LVIRE band.
Currently the band explores new trends of the Brazilian music and world music as MPB, Alternative Rock, Pop Rock, Reggae, Latin Rhythms and other grooves, with own compositions in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
In September 2006 came the CD Hoje Eu Sei, with good impact on the independent music scene this album highlights were the songs: Hoje Eu Sei, Ser Eterno, Culpados and in December the same year were awarded the Best Reggae Trophy 2006 event held in Sao Paulo by two major radio stations. In April 2007 the band was the subject of an important French site reggae-live.com, it began with a small online advertising directed to the outside that ended up bringing good results, the album Hoje Eu Sei, had more than 50,000 hearings in Jamendo.com (European site) that eventually attracting interest from international producers for possible presentation in Italy (Pescara), France (Paris) and USA (San Diego, California).
El amor Vencio is the band's new album, entirely self produced and independently, the album has ten original songs divided into Portuguese, English and Spanish, with a sound pleasing to the ear and leading the listener to wander through different rhythms and influences from MPB / Jazz, Rock Alternative, Classic Rock, Reggae and even Rumba, and demonstrate the quality and musical maturity gained in the ten years of career. Indica was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to form a unique and personal musical proyect, trying to generate a space unexisting in the musical scenario. The band is named after a counterculture art gallery of the late 60s, located in Masons Yard, London, England.

With Daniel Melero as the artistic director and producer the music is defined by the conjunction of the acoustic and electronic, creating an eclectic variety of expressions and sonority, subtles for a moment and explosive at the next. 

Indica invites us to an astral and surreal journey, with dark climates and spatial sounds, as if everything was about an asphyxiating dream. Psychedelic lyrics and songs defines a completely eclectic album. Some of the recurrent topics of the band are: dreams, love, death, spirituality and the universe.

London based 'We buy gold' are a diverse post punk, rock, rap band who are not afraid to explore and incorporate various styles. Influences range from Bad brains to Roni Size and they have been likened to bands such as Mudhoney and Asian Dub Foundation. 'We buy gold,' emerged from hibernation in the spring of 2010 with a new line up and refreshed determination to entertain audiences with a attitude driven performance that gets people shaking across the dance floor. The principle writers in the band are Marlon (guitarist) and Craig (vocalist). Sebastian (drummer) and Ko-chun (bassist) add their influences in the original and stylistic arrangements. When 'We buy gold' hit the stage they push the limit into overdrive. Imagine a balloon at full inflation, on the verge of popping but never does until your attention wanders then, BOOM! Bombastic, dynamic and imaginative waves of sonic power. Delicately crafted and meticulously shaped to form a true gritty London sound.

We Buy Gold started around 4 years ago by Craig (vocalist). As a youngster he was deeply involved in the underground old school Drum and base scene then progressed onto the Garage scene with a great determination showcasing a unique style of his own. After mc’in in England with some of the greatest pirates from an early age, working abroad in Spain in some of the biggest clubs around alongside well known name's in the Garage and drum and bass scene, Craig decided to take all of his influences and experiences and create a band with the soul intention of it being unique and innovative. After a short break of a few months the band returned with a full line up and with some of the greatest tracks to date. Marlon on guitar brings a high energy performance skilled with styles ranging from alternative punk to classical Spanish who also plays an integral role in the composition and arrangements. Sebastian on the drums shows his versatility in his block rock’in beats influenced by the alternative rock style, and new to the band Ko-chun on bass who has a wealth of experience in various styles from experimental electro to funk rock. They are currently recording their first album "Ron's Room" at the premises studios with a great manager and friend Tony Holland from 19th floor music. So the future is bright and the sound and energy of this band untouchable. 

Shitting Glitter is an American queercore/avant-pop band inspired by new wave and electronic rock. The band was formed in 2001 by Amy Crosby (vocals), Devin Tait (synths and vocals) and Von "Mag" Edwards (guitar and vocals). Originally, they aimed to parlay their outsider art rock into commercial success as an openly-LGBTQ band. The lineup fluctuated until the band released its debut album Post No Bills in 2003, at which time the lineup included Crosby, Tait, and guitarist/producer Brandon Strecker (credited as Brandon Glen). This lineup of the band released two more albums and several singles and EPs. Perhaps their biggest success was the track "Slut Buffet," which was remixed by Solar City and became an underground "hit" in gay nightclubs. In 2010, Tait left the band with Crosby the sole remaining original member. Crosby passed away in February, 2021 but her memory lives on through her art, music, and all those she left a mark on during her time on earth.

In 1998, songwriting & production duo Emily Haines & Jimmy Shaw formed what would become Metric and left Toronto for NYC in search of like-minded artists.
