Yoyoyo - Memento Australis
A stay in a dystopian Atacama desert



Fertil Discos presents "Paisajes", the first "ecompilation" that makes visible landscapes at risk of extinction in Latin America. With a conglomerate of global producers, it proposes 15 tracks in the key of soundscape and electronic song that dialogue with the environment in order to introduce us to different geographies that suffer the consequences of human exploitation.

Together with Germinar ONG from Buenos Aires, we try to make these scenarios visible and contribute to manage with environmental awareness and responsibility, rethinking culture and industry in a context of a global ecological crisis. 

The third single comes from Chilean Yoyoyo, a founding member of the popular band Tunacola. The track Memento Australis (something like a call to "remember the south") imagines a stay in a dystopian Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world, which in the past hosted numerous oases and ecosystems with plants that disappeared after a series of climatic changes. Today, the overexploitation of water for industrial, domestic, rural and urban purposes, together with the phenomenon of global climate change, once again threatens the stability of the area.


The artwork was done by artist Miguel Marino using Artificial Intelligence technique.
