This is the second installment of a little experiment I like to do from time to time. I call it the "Mother's Mashup" series which consists of songs that curiously go together in very uncanny ways. Most of the time a pitch drop here and a speed adjustment there will be all it takes to show that we are all singing the same song. ;)

This little collection of music from other artists that has inspired me recently and If you enjoy any of it, please buy it from the artists.

I begin with Jim James' first track on his solo release called "State Of The Art (A.E.I.O.U)" and mix that with "Dye" off Tycho's latest album "Awake" which is a blast to drive to btw.

Next we have Tor's "Glass and Stone" from his album "Drum Therapy" mixed with James Blake's "Retrograde". No bedroom is complete without James, take my word for it. 

Then we move into a song off my favorite album of 2012, "When Can" by producers Kettel and Secede. Yes, Kettel made it on my last mashup too. The song is "Ringvanes" and is exactly what I'm all about, mystery forest music. This track is complemented with the beat wizardry of Shigeto with his song "Detroit part 1".

The we take a trip back a decade to whom i consider an unsung electronic hero: Cornelius. This japanese producer is incredible and was very influential to me back in the day. He appears here with his awesome watery guitar track "Drop" mixed with one of the coolest hooks I've heard in a while by Ninja Tune's Matrixxman. The song is called "Enter Me"

Finally we get to an awesome energetic track by Machinedrum called "aeolia" mixed with "85-bit" by who could be the greatest unknown producer around: Woob. "85-bit" is off his album "Repurpose" is a musical journey everyone should take at some point. To me, one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever.   

Hopefully this is just in time for your long summer drives...

Here's a brand new remix i made for my friends Big Gigantic! When i found out i was playing red rocks with them i got interested in the idea of reworking one of their songs. The little things had such a unique vocal, different from anything i've worked on before so i just had to give it a go. Super happy with how it turned out!

A truly epic night to say the least! An amazing crowd and incredible vibes. The only thing I prepared for this show were a collection of sequences and drum patterns from my sequencer. All voices, drum kits, modular patches, effects, etc were all created on the spot.

Little Star - May the Way (EarthCry Remix)

I had been playing around with the sounds in this track for quite some time, perhaps 6 months. There is a special kind of relationship you have with a tune when you work on it for that long. It became quite precious to me. Musical worlds collided when Sara Hartman of R34L added her incredible voice and lyrics. The song took on a whole new flavor and now precisely expresses the feels I was going for. I rarely spend the kind of time I did putting a song together.

Bret has been our long time friend since we met back in music school and we've been wanting to do a song with him for years. His music is extremely soulful and his talent really shines beautifully on this record.

Kiiara - Messy(Sweater Beats Remix)

I recently decided I'm tired of playing by the rules and I wanted to share some music thats gone unheard for long enough. I started this smooth RnB jam in the early half of 2015. A lot of talented homies played on this track but sadly I lost the session files in a hard drive crash in early 2016. I felt like it would be a disservice to the magic of the song to try to recreate the original performances. So since it was never officially finished, the song remains a bit imperfect, fragmented and flawed, but the beauty is in the imperfections right!?
Shout out to @lyonhartmusic for providing these lovely vocals, @masegomusic for lending his saxophone talents and my friend Noah Mathews for laying down that lush bass groove.
