Philo proves you don't need decades of experience to understand and push boundaries of a genre. With national and international recognition, Philo's originally vinyl-exclusive selection has evolved over time into a digital hybrid in the pursuit of the best possible sound. Characteristics of her selection involve rough UK bass, deep amen, atmospheric dnb, half-time, dubby bassbin, jungle and footwork with a splash of classic 90s.

She has played club gigs across Germany as well as many festivals and holds keen interest and involvement with Deegree Recordings since 2020 moving into organizing and promoting too. Since February 2020 Philo hosts a radio show on the infamous jungletrain.net every second Wednesday at 11pm while also continuing to contribute journalistic endeavors regularly to the German drum & bass magazine, Trommel&Bass. 

What’s next for Philo? She has dreams to someday play in London and cannot wait to get back into putting on regular events as soon as the Covid situation will allow it.

Deviate Guest Mix 002 - Philo

A bass event series launched in 2018 by Berlin based DJ Sammy B with the concept to depart from accepted "normalisms"  in the breakbeat dance scene. The goal is to promote less known producers and DJ's, under-rated artists, FLINTA artists, and encourage diverse genre pushing sets without discrimination.
