bpmf (Jason Szostek of Prototype 909, Serotonin records fame, boss at Schmer Records) brings the heat with a live hardware set recorded for Diffuse Reality in Brooklyn. It starts off with moody ambient synths,
then moves into some fierce and funky beats.
Second hour:
Hiroko Yamamura (Trax Records, Schmer Records, Smartbar and Soundbar resident), fresh off a mini European tour, proves why she’s one of the best in the U.S. with her DJ mix. Lots of techno goodies in
there, including some of her own collaborations with fellow Chicago techno selector Submerge on Impact Mechanics Records.

The first guest this episode is none other than Ron S., the brains and often the beats behind St. Louis-based Anode Records. While he primarily does live hardware PAs, as a DJ, he can definitely throw down with the best of the best. The second guest is Harley, she’s young and she’s from Iowa. But her techno selections are exceptional, as
are her skills. It’s hard not to be impressed. Finally, a sneak peek of an ambient remix on Tommy Mental’s upcoming ep on Abstrakt Xpressions Records closes out the show.

Android Assassins Episode 8 is double-charged with midwest music madness! Two of Minneapolis’ most legendary producers (besides the purple one, Prince, of course)make appearances. First up, Paul Birken roars and rumbles with an unreleased hardware set recorded live in 2016 at Berlin’s Suicide Circus. Freddy Fresh tears up the second hour with a spectacular dj mix with tracks from Laura Grabb and Autokinetic interspersed with his own productions.

I've been a fan of Andy Barton's Bass Agenda podcast and label Bass Agenda Recordings for a while. Andy always curates an amazing selection of electro, emphasizing quality and history, with an eye to the future of the genre. His mix for the show is no exception. My second guest, Nancy Cheng, AKA Nancy Yamacouchie, AKA Necronancer, and one half of the duo Bruce Lee Press On Nails brings a whole lot of fun to the Minneapolis DJ scene. Her mixes are dense and full of surprises, whether she's playing techno, electro, or booty house and ghetto tech.

First up is the formidable Brenda from Format FM in Chicago. She brings the heat with tracks on Mord, Sleaze, and finishes off with a belter from Chicago-based Impact Mechanics. Next up, is Lindsey Herbert. She’s been racking up some serious cred playing shows across Europe, including the new faces night at Tresor. Her mix was recorded live at LA’s infamous SoftLeather this August.

Android Assassins: Episode 10 with Brenda & Lindsey Herbert

Episode 11 showcases two of Minneapolis’ most underrated live PAs. First is Heckadecimal, a.k.a Josh Bestgen. His set was recorded live at GoDeeper, a night run by some amazing women in Minneapolis. Next up is Julian Rivera. He’s released on Minneapolis-based Analog Records and provides a short set of fresh material for this show. Both of them always put together interesting and thoughtful techno. Finally, a short 20 excerpt from a Devil Girl electro mix rounds out the two hours.. Coming up at 3PM Central/21:00 GMT on Threads Radio global stream!
