In 1115 Earl Magnus (Manus) of Orkney was killed by his jealous half brother Earl Hakon.  St Manus has had devotional followers to this very day.  This poem is from the wonderful collection of folklore, Carmina Gadelica, by Alexander Carmichael.  

A Mhanuis mo rùin 
Is tu dhèanadh mo rùin 
A chuirp chùbhraidh nan dùl, 
Cuimhnich oirnn. 

Cuimhnich a naoimh nam buadh, 
A chomraig 's a chòmhn an sluagh, 
Cobhair oirnne nar truaigh, 
'S na trèig sinn. 

Tog ar seilbh mach ri leirg, 
Casg coin ghioirr is coin dheirg, 
Cum uainn fuath, fath, feirg, 
Agus fòirne. 

Cuartaich tàn agus buar, 
Cuartaich caor agus uan; 
Cùm uap an fhamh-bhual, 
'S an luch-fhèoir. 

Crath an drùchd on speur air crodh, 
Thoir fàs air feur, dèis, agus snodh,

Quell the wolf and the fox, 
Ward from us spectre, giant, fury,

Surround cows and herds, 
Surround sheep and lambs; 
Keep from them the water-vole, 
And the field-vole. 

Sprinkle dew from the sky upon kine, 
Give growth to grass, and corn, and sap to plants,

"Might & Magic Heroes 6 Pirates of the Savage Sea" main music theme

This sad, beautiful music I composed is about a group of heroes entering a dark mountain. It was inspired by Lord of the Rings. This orchestral track is like the other one in that it behaves like music from a movie soundtrack. Sudden changes in melody and instruments are even more common in this track. This music is part 2 out of 4 of the Halls of the Mountain.
